Vintage 1971 Klein Buhrke 5228 linesman ironworker pole tree climbing tool belt
A very nice vintage padded 1971 Klein/Buhrke model 5228 linesman's/Ironworker's/tree topper's tool belt. This belt is in excellent condition especially considering how old it is. The leather is soft and pliable and the hardware is in excellent shape. It has double D-rings to attach a wall hook or tree/pole climbing strap and a pliers/dykes/keel tool holster bolted/riveted onto a sewn-in leather strap with 3 holes. The holster is not in as good of shape as the belt. The leather on it feels older and weaker but it would be easy to replace. Opposite the pliers holster is another sewn-in leather strap with 3 holes for attaching another holster or whatever. Lots of leather loops and 4 small D-rings for it looks like attaching suspenders. Spikes are marked with maker along with" LC-5 15 IN 425-Phila 45-55" Leather straps attached to them are in fair aged and used condition with waring to them. Straps are marked with Buckingham. Only tearing I can see is slight to the buckle holes. More like leather cracking or seperating. Belt is in fair condition with no tears to it or fraying. It has 2 metal loops which the climbing rope attaches to. They are in fair shape with sign of use but no cracks. Climbing rope is in fair used condition with little fraying. more like rope being scuffed slightly. Clips on rope are in fair condition and clip properly with clip springs tight. This is a Buckingham linemans belt that fits me. It is dated 9/07. It is unused and in brand new condition but since I needed to put it on ebay it is considered used. I wear a size 34 waist and it fits great. There are 9 holes in the belt to adjust for different size people. I tried it on and used the middle hole so it will fit just about anyone. This is a large belt. There is also a strap that comes with this. Being that it is a leather item. It is a bit on the heavy side for shipping. Up For Auction is a pair of MSA-Brooks Climbing Gaffs Spikes. Great for Tree and Pole Climbing. Spikes and metal is rusty from sitting in a barn. The leather is beginning to deteriorate from age. There is also a Buckingham Safety Harness Belt included in this auction. It has buckingham on the pouches and hook. Not sure of size. This was all used by a telephone worker. Vintage M. Klein and Sons 16 1/2 Lineman Tree Pole Climbing Spikes Gaffs
Up for auction are a pair of vintage M. Klein and Sons climbing spikes. One of the straps is missing as in the pictures. From what I can tell they are stamped 16 1/2 M.Klein& Sons 8-7. The leather straps and pads are certainly old and not suitable for use as far as I can tell! I made no effort to clean them. Good luck! US only/ paypal only/ no returns- thanks! Both spikes are 18' long and belt is 7' long Spikes are stamped 18' and dated 1945 on both spikes and on the frames Also stamped m.klein& sons chicago. Il. Belt is dated-59 m.klein& sons. All clips. Used Buckingham linesman tree climbing gaffs klein electrical bag 2 belts & more
I have for auction this large group of used linesman climbing gaffs and belts and other electrical climbing equipment. The Gaffs are marked buckingham. They are Catalog model 9227 they are good and solid and the point is sharp. the points have been protected. the previous owner has the spring action point caps. There are two belts. One is marked klein burke and the second belt is unmarked there is a climbing rope and other items I don't have a clue of their functions. If I had to rate the leather I would say the leather is average minus condition. the straps are canvas, so I know they are in good used condition. The leather will need to be cleaned and tung oiled. the klein bag is in good used condition. it is stained, but has no tears. the other bag has a little tear by one of the hang hooks.
