George Frick(1826-1895) was an engineering genius. Who began building steam engines for farm use in the early 1850s, in a shop on Antietam Creek in Pennsylvania. As this official company history states, George Frick heard the guns at the battles of Antietam and Gettysburg, saw the pony express superseded by the trans-continental railroad, supplied machines which helped open the Great West, and ushered in the era of refrigeration. When he died in 1892, Frick equipment was in use from Coast to Coast. The history of the Company he founded thus parallels the story of America. And it’s all here. With nearly 200 black and white drawings, photos, and illustrations. This fabulous book is literally a museum of the Frick Company, and the great equipment it manufactured. There is a photo of the town of Frick, Switzerland, the ancestral home of the Frick family. There are also photos of the Frick home in Quincy, Penn. which, according to the caption, was later occupied by other important companies: Landis Tool Co. Landis Machine Co. and the Good Lumber Co. 3 Point Hitch PTO Driven Portable Sawmill
This a 3 pt. hitch. PTO( 540 RPM) driven sawmill. You can run the mill with other power sources if you like.The mill was manufactured near Scottsburg, Indiana in the 1970's and early 80's. New teeth, easy to install. 36" blade, 14" cut. It needs attention in some areas. A few of the small gears on the table needs replaced, the drive belt is drying out, and the bolwer housing for the sawdust blower needs some sheet metal work. The saw operates fine. It's quite, hydrulics work as they should. It has all new roller chains on all chain driven parts. It appears that all the gears, belts, bolts, chains and anything else on it, is availble at Grainger or McMaster Carr. I have not seenanything on it that is custom made. As far as I can tell anyway. D E S C R I P T I O N Woodmizer/ LT40/ 841 Hours/ 1994 I bought this sawmill with a friend and the friend decided to bail and go cross country. Now I'm stuck with it. I do not have time to operate a sawmill business a long with the other businesses that I own and operate unfortunately. But the few jobs we did we made very good money so this mill does have good potential for the right area and person. This mill is in excellent condition, was gone over thoroughly, Band belts replaced/ new blades/ Engine( 27 HP Kolar) maintained and tuned up/ New alternator/ New battery& Cables etc. fortunately for the person buying this I am a perfectionist on all my equipment so this isn't top-notch shape. Hydraulic lift works excellent and definitely a must-have for a portable mill operation. The only thing I did not add to this mill was the debarker ... morenot necessarily a must but is a nice option, to put on also cost an additional $2500 including installation and for the amount of use we gave it which is three jobs in one year we opted not to put it on. New will Wheel bearings were put on this unit. This unit will come with a large toolbox/ thousand dollars worth of new blades directly from wood miser, extra belts and parts everything needed for on the road work. I was also told that the powerhead was purchased new for the sawmill, and I believe it, due to it's little-used appearance. It has"direct action" hydraulics. Meaning there are no electronic parts between the operator and the hydraulic moving parts. Mighty Mite Portable sawmill, 30" log, 18hp V Twin Honda, made in Oregon
I bought this about 5 years ago brand new and haven't used it much in the last couple of years. Mostly what I use it for now is making fireplace mantels. It works good and I can demonstrate it when you get here to pick it up. The only thing I don't like about this mill is that when the throttle is turned way up the blade vibrates quite a bit, so after making a cut I have to turn the throttle down, I don't know how to adjust it to make it stop doing that. There's a couple of other more minor things too that need attention. Comes with 2 extra brand new blades. This company has been making these for about 30 years, they are based here in Oregon, the Portland area. I haven't moved the sawmill even once since I bought it, it's been sitting right where you see it when I first brought it to my wood shop. For sale is a Timber King 1600 portable sawmill. It is a 2012 model. With less than 100 hours. I also have several blades that go with the mill. It has full hydraulics, log lifting arms, log turner, log clamp, head up and down, forward/back head travel, and manual log stops. It also has 6 leveling jacks, electric brakes, and a digital read out meter that will help position the head to exact thickness of cut. The mill consists of a 20' heavy steel track and a bandsaw with 5 HP gas motor mounted horizontally on a chassis that moves along the track. Portable Sawmill Bandsaw 26"X16' Log Capacity mounted on a Street Legal Trailer
Up for sale is a Woodland Mills HM126 band saw which has been mounted on a welded steel frame on a trailer. The trailer can be titled and comes with the certificate of origin which is required to get a plate in Illinois. The saw was purchased to produce boards from the trees which were cleared from a lot we are now building on. The wood will be used for internal features such as stairs. Ceiling and wall covering, and furniture. The saw was purchased at the beginning of this summer. The saw comes mounted on the trailer and can cut a 10’ log. With the included 6 ft. extension, a 16’ log can be sawn. A wheeled jack stand has been added to the front A frame of the trailer for easy movement of the saw when not being towed. A log loading winch and two 6’ loading ramps are including to make loading the big logs a snap. The ramps have some blocks ... morewelded to the bottom for a slip free alignment to the saw rails. A felt wipe/lubrication pad system has been added and used with diesel fuel. 10 band saw blades are included. All have been used and need to be sharpened except one which has never been used. Three blades also need to be welded. A 5’ cant hook is also included for moving the larger logs which can be used on logs 8 to 24” in diameter. If the buy it now price is used I will include the debarking tool which can be mounted on a chain saw(not included) to quickly remove the bark to greatly lengthen the life of the blades. Will handle logs up to 28" diam x 16'4" long, has hand crank and lock or added on electric saw height adjuster, very simple and easy to operate, has stand for water bucket, for dust control. stand for it's plastic gas container, aprx 4gal) this mill is used and could actually use new two new band idlers, however it cuts and operates perfect, I have owned it for 8 yrs and milled countless logs with absolutely no problems, the 20 hp Honda engine starts up everytime and has plenty of power, I have kept it serviced and has never used any oil between changes. trailer tounge requires a 2" ball, This is a good, solid mill that cuts great, and a GREAT DEAL at my starting price, other than the idlers being worn it will need new tail lights, new leveling jacks, I have the ones that came with it ... morebut they don't work very good, I rarely used them, I put timber piers under it for more stability. anyway I am physically unable to use the mill, now someone else can cut timbers and barn siding.
