Antique Cast Iron Cant Hook, Pulley Hook, and Connecting Ring - Folk Farm Tool
This is an antique cast iron whatchamacallit. It looks to be a home welded cant hook attached to a ring which is attached to a pulley hook. It was probably used as some sort of tool. But what I can't imagine. Maybe it was just someone's time wasting project. It's 18 1/2" at total length and 3 1/2" at widest.

This is a great old antique tool out of the woods of North Idaho. You still find a few of these around. On a logging truck or in the log yards to move a single log or cedar pole around that's in the wrong place. Most everything in the woods and log yards is mechanized now. They used to be a necessary tool on the farm too. This peavey has long been retired. The handle has checked and splintered some and it's ready for display. This is a Leach Company in Oshkosh. Wisconsin logging roller. It is also called a Cant Hook and it is also called a Peavy Hook. This is a model M 15. I went on the web site and looked an they had these tools running all the way up to#14. It was about $168.00. This one has a new nut and bolt replacing the old. I found this in a garage sale. I have been in the buying and selling business for years, I am 65 myself and this was the first time I had the opportunity to by this tool. I could not pass it up. Then I realized that I don't intend to ever do any log rolling, so here you go. The guy who sold it to me was older than I and had a lot of specialized tools. He said that the wood may not look that good but this thing had a lot of log rolling left in it. I have to take his word on that I have never rolled a log in my life except for some ... moretrees that we had to cut down in our yard once and we just cut them us into something we could handle. This is still a good tool as it is but it is also a good thing to hand on the wall and start conversations.

This is a old cant hook with a solid wood handle and a good hook. It is stamped: mfg. co. Duluth, Minn. on one side and#40 on the other. We cannot read the mfg. name due to use and wear but it looks like the letters N.W. but are not sure. We truly think this is an old antique cant hook from the glory logging days of Northern Minnesota when they were floating logs down the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers. No proof, just our thoughts. Vintage Sawyer's 24" D L T Co Cant Hook Sawmill Log Turner Roller Unique Hook
This is a true vintage D L T Co. Sawyer's Cant Hook which was used by the sawyer in a sawmill to turn the logs on the skid and carriage and note the multi point hook for grabbing on the log bark. The handle appears to have Sturde Tool of Indiana on it and the hook sleeve has D L T Co. and the other side has 61(model? and 2 1/4" on it. This is a great collectible and a tough one to find. Antique Massive 58" OshKosh Wisconsin Leach Co Cant Hook Log Logging Peavey
This cant hook is massive. It is Fifty Eight inches long. It is an OshKosh brand made in Oshkosh Wisconsin by the Leach Co. It has the original handle which is also stamped. Has some normal minor cracking to the handle. Strong as an ox and I don't think they come any bigger. Swinging hook will be removed for shipping to allow a more manageable package so you will have to bolt it back on which will be super easy to do.
