Here is an antique John Deere 2 row corn planter. Great as a large/centerpiece for vintage yard decoration. Very rare item. Horse drawn. Pull type. All iron wheels. It is missing 2 of the container lids. Wood part of draw bar is rotted. Other than that it is probally fairly complete. It has aging and wear from exposure to the weather. See photos for condition. This is a lovely antique(circa 1910) John Deere Van Brunt horse drawn seed planter. Planter box attached as you can see. A collector piece and then some. These amazing old farm implements were used to plant crops such as rye. Wheat and alfalfa. The sides of the planter box have those gorgeous VB initials in the sides(marked VB for Van Brunt. Antique Check Row Planter Wire Coil Old Vintage Agriculture Farming Horse Drawn
This is a fantastic piece of agricultural history! It is a roll of check row planter wire from the horse drawn and early tractor farming era used with a method called"check-row planting. Farmers would stretch a wire like this one across a field. The wire has knots every 40-42 inches. The planter would drop three or four seeds every time it hit a knot in the wire. This created a checkerboard field pattern which they would later cultivate in one direction and then again 90 degrees the other direction. This wire is rusty and corroded/pitted in places. Some of the knots are heavily caked with dirt. The wire is in a coil and we did not uncoil the wire to measure how long it is. Buyer pays postage on a 20 lb package. Grain sifter/ sorter in very. Very good shape, has been stored inside since new according to the old farmer, his dad bought it new and was always passed down. Has many screens for it, for grains such as oats and corn, even has blanks to make your own screens. This is a very complete set and you will be hard pressed to find another set up like this one. Please look at pictures. They are the best way for you to see what you are buying. If you buy the item and you are not happy with it when once you inspect it IN PERSON. You do not have to take it. Cash is the best payment upon pickup. If you are not able to pick it up within two weeks a down payment via paypal of $100 is required. If the item is not picked up within 90 days it will be considered abandoned and will be offered for sale again with no refund to the buyer. Loading is not a problem ... moreif you come to get it in person. I have been having a problem with freight pick up, they have not been telling me when they are coming to pick up and with my busy schedule this has been a problem. Antique Vintage Wheat Fanning Mill Old Farm Equipment Primitive Grain Separater
I found this vintage/antique piece of equipment while cleaning out an old farm homestead. It was in the loft of the barn. It is a wheat fanning mill. Not sure of the age. Perhaps late 1800's to early 1900's. Some writing on the end is still legible. It reads Wheat Fanning and below is John Sullinger No. 3. It is in original condition although the screens are not in it. There is a possibility that the screens could be in the loft. When you turn the wheel it turns easily and the arm on the opposite end moves the unit from side to side(perhaps a sifting action) I am really not familiar with how this equipment works but it seems well preserved.
