This is a precision amplifier and meter covering 1 Hz- 200 kHz. +100 dB Max, 300 V Max. It is used for comprehensive analysis of sound, vibration, and voltage signals and can be used with companion condenser microphones and preamplifiers to form a precision sound level meter for research, product certification, and auditory analysis. A new proper IEC power cord and an original B&K operations manual is included. Also included is a BNC input adapter and a preamp input adapter. Vintage General Radio 1551A sound level meter w/peanut vacuum tubes & nice mic
You are bidding on a General Radio portable sound level meter with fold-out collectible microphone. This is a pretty cool vintage meter. One of the nicest I've seen. The meter does not appear to be working. At least I can't generate any meter movement with it plugged in and trying different input settings. The battery contacts inside have some corrosion(no battery present) that needs to be cleaned up, and the shielded box inside that houses the tube componentry needs to be remounted as a couple of the isolation bushings that hold it in place have disintegrated with age. Probably not a difficult repair, and the peanut tube(or tubes, I didn't look inside the shielded box so not sure if there is more than one) and microphone have value on their own. The original detachable power cord- which is in very good condition given its age- ... moreis also included. Priced accordingly. Buyers. Small stress crack on the sensitivity level clear plate near the right screw. Body has dirt residue, wear, split in one of the rubber feet, and heavy paint loss on the bottom. Some smaller areas of paint loss in other places. Side body screws have green corrosion. I took a peek inside and the electronics generally look clean overall. U p for auction is a VINTAGE VACUUM TUBE CHECKER TYPE B. This tube tester is working as of right now. But as with any piece of vintage testing equipment it can work one time and then not the next. This test is very clean for it's age. There is a piece of the case that broke off on the right side(see picture) but it has been glued back on. The three test buttons have some slight signs of wear. The face plate has the numbers of the tubes listed on it so no manual is necessary to use it. This meter is 7"x2.5"x5.5" On the back of this meter is says that this meter was MADE BY"THE RADIO PRODUCTS" DAYTON, OHIO I have described this meter to the best of my abiliy but I am not an expert by any means. It does power up and i am able to get the meter to zero out. The input jacks cause the meter level to rise but that is the extent of the testing that I have done. I slowly brought up the AC to allow the filter caps to get a soft charge. Has all RCA and GE US tubes in it. The two rear feet are missing but that does not affect operation. Also the amplitude control turning is tight but does operate. Excellent for the vintage audio collector! No reserve auction. General Radio Company Vintage 1565-A Decibels Sound Level Meter
This Decibel meter is in excellent used condition. The manual is dated January 1966. Even includes the factory calibration card. There appears to be a hairline crack in the left upper dial(hard to see in photos) Untested. But presumed to be working. Came out of a factory, and was probably used to measure industrial noise levels. The leather case is in good condition, the unit appears to be in good condition, and the manual is present, but does show some wear. No Reserve Auction! But it seems to be in good condition, If anyone is a gearhead enough to look at this, they'll know what it is and what questions to ask. I don't know if the unit mounts to anything, but on top of it, there are two plastic pieces, one of them is chipped, but I doubt this affects it's functionality. VINTAGE HH SCOTT 450B SOUND LEVEL METER GOOD CONDITION AND WORKING
This is a used sound level meter in very good physical and working condition. I used this meter for years and was very happy with it's operation. The built in calibration feature is awesome! it can measure spl from about 30 db all the way to 140+ db and it does it quite accurately. It uses a 30 volt battery which you will have to get. There are several sources on the web to get them. The old battery which is dead is included with the unit. The battery was never left in the unit when not in use. the instruction manual is missing but the full usage instructions are on the back of the unit. It's a fine piece of vintage audio test gear! LED bar graph stereo audio level meter for VINTAGE TAPE DECK REPAIR & ALIGNMENT

Up for bid/sale here is a neat lil’ device(still works great) that I fabricated. Wired& built MANY YEARS AGO in the late 80’s, when I was just a teen LOL. I used it for testing PREAMPS as well as cassette deck/Walkman/open reel PLAYBACK HEAD AZIMUTH AJDUSTMENTS. I stole the stereo LED bar graph meter(and IC driver circuit) out of an old tape deck or receiver that I gutted& salvaged for parts. I found this a few weeks ago in an old parts bin and it was dead. I opened it up and found an old homemade/soldered 3.6V NiCAD pack that was all corroded and long since direly deceased LOL. None of the corrosion corrupted the inside of the enclosure, so I just ripped out the old epoxied NiCAD pack and installed ... morea 2AA battery holder(3VDC) with a convenient 9V clip on the end. I loaded 2 size AA Duracells, flipped the rear toggle switch and PRESTO! ALL the LED’s lit up across the scale. This is the default power indication you get until you actually inject audio signal. The meter is made to be driven with LINE LEVEL or LOW POWER AUDIO, in the range of 200mW to 2000mW. It is PERFECT for testing/repairing/aligning Ipods, MP3 players, Walkmans, Discmans, tape decks and preamps. There is still my old hand written sticker label on the bottom(LOL) that gives the pinout for 1/8” and ¼” stereo plugs as follows: LEFT=WHITE=TIP/RIGHT=RED=MID SHAFT/Gnd-Shield-Black=Inner shaft. The rear toggle switch is POWER. Audio may be injected in TWO ways…via the ¼” stereo jack(you can use a 1/4” to 1/8” stereo adapter)OR through the color coded spring terminals, exactly the same as many stereo receivers and speakers use for speaker terminals. The case is made of high quality stitched and tanned leather- heavy duty. Top notch look like you always expect from vintage General Radio gear.
