Heathkit IM-12 Harmonic Distortion Meter. It powers up and the needle moves. The dials and switches turn with no issues. I put a signal in from a function generator and the meter changed levels when varying the frequency on the generator or the meter. As I do not have a manual that was all of the testing I was able to do. As this item is vintage electronics it is being sold AS IS. The case has a few scratches on it. The side trim rails. Top and bottom covers are scratched from handling and there are no feet or wire stand. The front panel looks quite clean with some scratches on the in/out connectors. Please see the pictures. We are not the original owner. The auto-null functions correctly. There are no cracked knobs and the controls have a nice. Firm feel. Once again, there are no feet or wire stand. This particular unit uses the oval, round pin, C163 style line cord. NO LINECORD IS PROVIDED WITH THIS UNIT. We did note some are available on EBay if you haven’t one already. Our testing was done with homebrew clip leads. We did a spot check at 1000 Hz using our ... moreS/T 1400 generator. Vintage BSR Electronics Music/Sound Level Meter
This sound measuring device came out of an estate sale. and I do not know its history. But it seems to work fine with the meter responding to different levels of sound. This analog meter has a case that is in very good condition showing little use. It uses a 9 V battery(not include) The only use I can figure for it is to measure the sound output from different speakers to see if they are balanced, but it could have other other uses. I do not have instructions for the meter and it has not been calibrated. PayPal only, because of Ebay’s payment policy. Vintage 1940's or 50's general radio co. type 1951-a filter. Has inputs for 0. 5k, 50k, 500k ohms And a switch that says either 1000c or 400c. I suspect the latter are in Hz or cps as the unit is labeled home instrument adv. dev. This came from the RCA plant in Indianapolis and was used for prototyping new designs and doing research, it was found in a large storage area full of other prototype stuff before the building was scrapped. I assume this went with a general radio audio signal generator but I am unsure. I found pdf manual for it online but eBay kindly won't let me share the link. You suck eBay! Cassette recorders and players, and other analog recording and reproduction devices with rotary components(e.g. movie projectors, turntables(vinyl recording) etc. This measurement quantifies the amount of'frequency wobble' caused by speed fluctuations) present in subjectively valid terms. Turntables tend to suffer mainly slow Wow. In digital systems, which are locked to crystal oscillators, variations in clock timing are referred to as or. Depending on speed. While the terms Wow and Flutter used to be used separately(for wobbles at a rate below and above 4 Hz respectively) They tend to be combined now that universal standards exist for measurement which take both into ... moreaccount simultaneously. Listeners find flutter most objectionable when the actual frequency of wobble is 4 Hz, and less audible above and below this rate. This fact forms the basis for the weighting curve shown here. Vintage Hewlett Packard HP 334a Distortion Analyzer parts repair project
Hewlett Packard 334a Distortion analyzer. Has optional DC supply inputs. Comes with mounting ears. Retired from a radio station and has been in storage for several years. Unknown calibration state. I don't have the necessary RF test gear to really check this for operation. So all I've done is plug it in, turn it on and verify that it doesn't blow fuses. Unit is being sold AS IS for repair. The inside is very clean however, so it shouldn't be too difficult a job to get it up to spec. I do note that the slip pin connectors are very tarnished, so I'd start there first. Outside is typical of a unit that saw commercial use, i.e. lots of scratches and the edges. Mild corrosion on the aluminum bits. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
