There is no real damage just some corrosion on the chassis throughout and some paint wear and paint chips throughout. The output transformer may be a replacement and the top can capacitor is slightly loose some, the unit measures in size 11"1/2 long by 6"1/2 deep. The amplifier powers up but I have not tested it out more so it is being sold"as-is" untested and more likely will need capacitors to make it reliable. I just installed a matched pair of Taylor 572B's and am getting full power output, about 650w out. This guy was promoted as the Kompact Kilowatt. It truly is compact. The amp portion is smaller than many radios& is sure to fit conveniently on your desk top. The"Kilowatt" part comes in when you calculate the power used produce the output. today we simply look at a meter& know what it is"doing" There are no scratches, dents or dings anywhere I can see. Other than the normal discoloration above the tubes, this amp could pass for new. I see no signs of abuse or misuse even on the inside. No obvious overheated parts& it was very well built initially. As with all the electronics I offer, this item is being sold as-is. If you are a Heathkit collector, this is a very rare find! If you are a ham looking for a compact way to get your signal out, you can't go wrong with this amp. I will include the manual copied to CD, the HV& B+ cables from the HP-24 to the amp.

This is for parts and as is. It does power on. The meter moved around a bit. However, I have no way to verify it works. Someone modded it by adding a switch at the input labelled"Hi-Z and 600 Ohm(probably a good thing) Someone also put a hole in the top of the unit(see picture) maybe to adjust a pot inside? I did not open the unit. The case is stained and a bit dirty but could be cleaned up with some elbow grease. If your a tech or a ham then you know what your looking at and what it is used for. As I recall if your trying to measure harmonic distortion in an HF rig this is a tool you need. This might be a great project or you can use for parts for another unit. Heathkit Model T-4 Signal Tracer very bright eye tube
This auction is for a very nice Heathkit Model T-4"visual and aural" RF and Audio signal tracer. The probe has a switch that connects a diode detector for checking RF. I can hear a number of broadcast stations when I touch my finger to the probe tip(you need a shunt RF choke or resistor like a 47K to block the AC hum for this test) This has a very high gain amplifier so that you trace a signal in a radio from the antenna all the way to the speaker. This is really useful for checking microphones even low-Z dynamics. This also has terminals for checking by substitution of the audio output transformer and speaker. The unit has not been fully tested however it was given a detailed inspection. The unit contains 5 tubes. All of the tubes were removed and tested. 1ea 6C4- strong. 1ea 12AX7- strong, 1ea 12AT7- strong, 1ea 12AU7- weak and 1ea 6X4- strong) The unit was plugged in and it did not blow a circuit. All of the dials and buttons moves smoothly and lines up properly with required settings. There are no burn marks or smells emitting from the unit. The original outer case has been damaged. The chasis has been placed in another outer shell. The mounting screws in the rear do not line up however the only thing need to be done is drill new holes in the outer shell. I did not, however, actually set up and use the analyzer to measure distortion, so I can't claim that it actually does what it is supposed to do. The calibration is NOT guaranteed, due to jostling and temperature changes in shipping, and because it is a 50 year old tester. I only mention the calibration to show that it does seem OK at the preliminary checkout stage in the assembly manual, but am offering it as untested, for parts or restoration, needing service.
