I found out that it had a BAD CRT. So I replaced it and have been using it when testing out and fixing other Tektronix Scopes. I am Offering to the winning bidder of this scope. Two(2) Brand New 100 Mhz X1- X10 Scope Probes so that you can start using this scope as soon as you take it out of the shipping box. Yes it comes with a Power Line Cord too. This an excellent running DSA 602 oscilloscope. It has been my go to scope for 5 years. I am upgrading to a newer(and smaller) model. The scope frame has a 1GHZ bandwidth and multiple digitizers which depending on slot usage. Number of channels and plugin used can be ganged together for up to 2 giga samples per second sampling rate. The scope powers up without any errors as shown in first picture. This scope will go enhanced accuracy mode after 15 minute warm up. The second picture shows enhance calibration in progress and the third picture shows successful enhanced accuracy message. Note this is the acid test if the scope is working problem. If there is any component off spec in the mainframe, digitizer or plugin it the enhanced accuracy calibration will fail. When I originally purchased this scope I tried three other DSA602's and this ... moreone was the only one to go into enhanced mode. This scope has the battery backup option and the real time spectrum analyzer option! The fourth picture is where I hooked up my Tektronix cg5001 calibrator via the pulse head. The fifth picture is where I hook up my HP 8648B generator and verified the overall bandwidth is 1040 MHZ. The Tektronix 2230 is a dual-channel 100 Mhz Digital Storage Oscilloscope designed to operate in wide range of environmental conditions. 2 millivolt vertical sensitivity Trigger View Maximum horizontal sweep speed of 50 nanosecond( 2 ns when magnifier is use) Stable triggering to 150 MHZ Cursor support- voltage and time Nicely running oscilloscope with the calibration checked on 10/23/2014. The scope does have two flaws. One is the fan is slow to startup. When you first turn on the scope the fan turns slowly. If you leave the scope on for a couple of minutes then turn off the scope and turn it right on the fan usually restarts to full speed. The problem seem to be thermal.If you don't wait long enough before you repower the scope you will to repeat the procedure. Once the fan electronics warm up everything is fine. If leave scope turned ... moreoff for several hours you will need to repeat the power cycle to get the fan to come up to normal speed. The second flaw is the cursor control is a little erratic. I sprayed some contact cleaner on the control housing. There is a small crack where various sections meet so some cleaner seem to have seeped in so the control works much better. The cursor control is now usable. It was to set the two cursor points as seen in the image. You might want to try spraying a little more contact cleaner on the housing to improve the control. Greetings! This 2440 is used and in superb condition. The display processor output and attenuator caps have been tuned to factory specification. And it has been calibrated with a DMM and power supply that both have NIST-traceable calibrations in a lab environment. It is hard to tell from the images, but the display is incredibly sharp, looks like new! The output voltages and ripple were checked via the A13 PCB and were well within spec. Aside from some scuffs and a chip in the left corner of the rear bezel, this unit is in EXCELLENT shape. This auction is for Tektronix 2430A oscilloscope with calibration verified on Feb 27.2015. Overall a very nice running scope- only flaws cosmetic in nature. Sold with a new pair of switchable 1X/10X 100MHZ probes. The Tektronix models 2430.2432,and 2440 are the last models where Tektronix published complete service manuals with SCHEMATICS, parts lists and diagnostic flow charts making board repairs possible. The design uses standard ttl dip chips for most of the design with only a few specialized parts. The later TDS models lack complete service manuals so repairs is by changing complete boards. If you decide to buy an older TDS model no longer supported by Tektronix( practically all TDS models you see listing on EBAY aren't supported) you need to buy two. One to use and one for spare parts!
