Offered is a Techtronics 545A Oscilliscope with Type 53/54K Plug-In Unit. I purchased this unit at an Estate sale. As you can see from the photos it has numerous scratches and marks on the outside paint finish but no dents or damage other than cosmetic.The cover on the carry handles is cracked and damaged. The front face has some scratches and wear and tear. Inside it is remarkably clean. The cooling fan runs fine. I cleaned the outside and thoroughly inspected the inside. Found no noticeable damage or problems. I don't know how to use a scope but was able to test it by following start up instructions from a free online manual for a 545 unit. After spending a lot of time adjusting the front controls following instructions from the manual. I was able to get the square tooth signal you see in the photos. It is a test signal from the Cal ... moreout jack connected with a jumper to the Plug in unit Input jack. Other than that no other tests were done. I don't have any cables or probes and wouldn't know how to use them if I did. I can't make any promises as to how well it will work otherwise. Sorry. This is a vintage Tektronix oscilloscope type 545A serial no. 039597. I do not have a cord and it has not been tested. On the top there is a brass plate that reads: Station Tool No. 204 146797 U.S. Navy. On the side there is a green plastic plate that reads: N.A.R.F. Shop 94501 Blgd.3220 Test Equipment jj-357. It has 4 inventory stickers and years-1983-1984-and 2 1987. There is also paperwork that is in the last picture. I do not know if it works for I have no cord to test it. The front graph panel lights up orange but I can't detect a green line. Also the front metal bezel that surrounds the display is black instead of grey. All knobs and control dials are intact.
