But you can now get it for a tiny fraction, working as well as new. ... more2465A was successor to best selling 2465 and predecessor to 2465B. 2465A added: keeping track of hours on, auto-scaling(idiotproof button) and front panel knob setting(setups) memory. I find not keeping track of hours by plain 2465 to be a serious drawback(you wouldn't want 1 that racked 262000 hours in its 30 years existance by being left on all the time, or even with 66000 hours if it was left on 1/4th the time) Scopes I sell have clocked less than 20000 hours. For 2465A that works out to no more ON than about 1/10th of the time. Another serious drawback of plain 2465 is a no longer made fan. 2465A uses a still available fan, and I do replace them as bearings wear. The only advantage I can think of that plain 2465 had was not needing a Li battery for memory backup. I routinely replace the Li battery in 2465As I sell(doubt others do, since doing it deletes cal) This Tek 2465A. A 350MHz analog scope, will be sent to you freshly calibrated, and ready to use. It fits analog 2400s made after 1986 that did not include a Siemens tubular fan(as in early 2445& 2465, but relied on a boxer(muffin) fan mounted on the back of the scope. You should specify model, serial, any options your scope has, as there was a divergence in 1989 as to how option power was distributed. I am offering you a tested good Tek p/n 165-2235-01 Channel 1 or 2 Preamp IC U100(upper left of photo) or U200(lower left of photo) that Tek used in 2445A. 2465A, 2445B, and 2465B scopes. If you need the earlier version 155-0235-00 used in 2445 or 2465, I can make that substitution for you, if you wish. It was also used as a preamp in 2430, 2430A, 2432, 2432A, 2440 DSOs, where they were labeled U320(for CH2) U420(for CH1) Tek would have charged at least $250 for one of these. Since I have multiple quantity of these, date codes on those you'll get may differ from photo. Starting at only $25(a tiny fraction of the $2000 or so it cost new) I will sell you a still working CRT for Tek 2400 series scopes. I have many. In keeping with the philosophy that you should get according to how much you pay, I shall pick one for you based on its ending price(or your final offer) This cathode ray tube fits all Tektronix 2400series analog scopes(except 2467& 2467B) It also fits 2440, 2432, 2432A, 2430A, and 2430 digitizing scopes, and if you need the 5 wire flatribbon for those, I will add it free if you ask me to. Count on about 30000 hours if you pay or offer $25, about 25000 hours if you pay or offer $50, about 15000 hours if you pay or offer $100, about 8000 hours if you pay or offer $200, about 4000 hours if you pay or offer $400, about 2000 hours if you pay or offer $650, or 100 hours(almost unused) at $1000. I ... morewould not recommend paying less than $100 and going over 15000 hours. While I have seen some of these CRTs working acceptably even at 90000 hours, on average, especially at faster sweep speeds and on low rep rate signals, going over 15000 hours, is a prescription for dim or fuzzy display. At slower sweep speeds(eg: 1mS/cm) and normal rep rate signals(eg: CW 1KHz sine wave) is the only regime where over 15000 hour CRTs can be counted on for acceptable brightness, so keep that in mind before being tempted to pay less than $100. While even the $25 CRT may be a useful diagnostic tool(if you don't have one or if yours is cracked open) if you really want to add youthful display, I recommend offering more to get one with fewer hours. If you need an analogy to better understand the scale of CRT hours think of every hour on a CRT as the equivalent of about 5 miles on a car: so a 20000 hour CRT is like a car with 100000 miles(not much can be expected from it) however a CRT with only 5000 hours is like car with 25000 miles from which continued reliable service can be expected.
