But you can now get it for a tiny fraction, working as well as new. ... more2465A was successor to best selling 2465 and predecessor to 2465B. 2465A added: keeping track of hours on, auto-scaling(idiotproof button) and front panel knob setting(setups) memory. I find not keeping track of hours by plain 2465 to be a serious drawback(you wouldn't want 1 that racked 262000 hours in its 30 years existance by being left on all the time, or even with 66000 hours if it was left on 1/4th the time) Scopes I sell have clocked less than 20000 hours. For 2465A that works out to no more ON than about 1/10th of the time. Another serious drawback of plain 2465 is a no longer made fan. 2465A uses a still available fan, and I do replace them as bearings wear. The only advantage I can think of that plain 2465 had was not needing a Li battery for memory backup. I routinely replace the Li battery in 2465As I sell(doubt others do, since doing it deletes cal) This Tek 2465A. A 350MHz analog scope, will be sent to you freshly calibrated, and ready to use. It has very good clean focus beam to my eye. It is on sale because of these three things to keep in mind before buying: for the sake of full disclose 1. As you can see in the fifth photo. A little part of the SCALE ILLUM knob has been broken off. You never touch the knob once you figured out your preference. 2. There is a rare ghost wave on channel one not long after booting up. It happens too rare to find a pattern for the occurrence. So I am not saying it will happen. But that it can. If it does happen, just tweak the channel one control knob a bit. Not a big deal. 3. The MCP(Microchannel Plate) protection system is always enabled. I don't know if the ... moreinternal needs to be tweaked or if I need to do it. From"EXER 09" menu. Tektronix 485 2 Channel 350MHz Analog Oscilloscope
I have had this scope for a number of years with light use. Cosmetics are pretty good. A few of the little rubber switch ends have cracks. The feet have a few bits of plastic off but that is about it. Last cal was decades ago. If the scope is not used for a long period sometimes it is necessary to cycle the switches but they come back. I believe it is all working but have not tested some of the less used functions like z axis. The scope is a 2 channel. The four traces in the picture show mixed B delayed by A mode. A 485 has roughly a 300- 350MHz bandwidth with the proper probes. No probes or manual are included. I have a pdf of the maintenance manual if desired.

2465A was Tek's high end portable scope from 1986 to 1988. It cost $6000 new. But you can now get it for a tiny fraction, working as well as new. 2465A was successor to best selling 2465 and predecessor to 2465B. 2465A added: keeping track of hours on, auto-scaling(idiotproof button) and front panel knob setting(setups) memory. I find not keeping track of hours by plain 2465 to be a serious drawback(you wouldn't want 1 that racked 262000 hours in its 30 years existance by being left on all the time, or even with 66000 hours if it was left on 1/4th the time) Scopes I sell have clocked less than 20000 hours. For 2465A that works out to no more ON than about 1/10th of the time. Another serious drawback of plain 2465 is a no longer made fan. 2465A uses a still available fan, and I do replace them as bearings wear. The only advantage I ... morecan think of that plain 2465 had was not needing a Li battery for memory backup. When we first tested this model it was producing 2 images for each source.we managed to get this to go away however it still occasionally produces multiple waveform images on its screen when there should only be one. After it warmed up it started doing a better at reproducing our waveform from the input. It was not very good at reproducing low Hz signals.anything below 100Hz looked like DC Offset being turned off and on. Our conclusion? This machine is in need of a good calibration.
