This scope is an absolute work-horse and has a lot of bells and whistles! Channels 1& 2 have selectable 50 ohm and 1Mohm inputs. Condition: The unit has been used and tested in my lab and works great. Functions(cursor measurements. AC/DC coupling, frequency counter, triggering, XY display mode. Beam finder, amplitude, horizontal sweep adjustments, alig nment. Accuracy. To name a few, etc. have been tested and work great. The highest RF signal I am able to produce in my lab for testing/displaying is 15MHz(see photo) All four input channels are working excellent(see first few photos for all 4 channel s displaying the same 200m Vpp. 1kHz, sin usoid al waveform at 100mV/div) Unit is in very clean cosmetic condition and has been used in a smoke-free lab environment. I find not keeping track of hours by plain 2465 to be a serious drawback(you wouldn't want 1 that racked 262000 hours in its 30 years existance by being left on all the time, or even with 66000 hours if it was left on 1/4th the time) Scopes I sell have clocked less than 20000 hours. For 2465A that works out to no more ON than about 1/10th of the time. Another serious drawback of plain 2465 is a no longer made fan. 2465A uses a still available fan, and I do replace them as bearings wear. The only advantage I can think of that plain 2465 had was not needing a Li battery for memory backup. I routinely replace the Li battery in 2465As I sell(doubt others do, since doing it deletes cal) This Tek 2465A. A 350MHz analog scope, will be sent to you freshly calibrated, and ready to use. These are used, but still good vertical output ICs for Tek analog 2400series scopes, Tek made these as 1 product off 1 fab line and labeled them with 1 of 2 part numbers after testing each for bandwidth as either: part# 155-0237-00 if they passed on the right half of the(Gaussian) bell curve, or as part# 165-2393-00 if they passed on the left side. Roughly speaking, 165-2393-00 will limit a 400MHz scope's bandwidth to about 360MHz, whereas a 155-0237-00 will let it work to around 450MHz. This means there is no reason to have the better one in a 2445, 2445A, or 2445B, but there is good reason to use them in 2465B and 2467B. 2465 and 2465A leave you a choice of little consequence. Almost Unused TEKTRONIX 2465B 400MHz Portable OSCILLOSCOPE calibrated guaranteed
Rare find: an almost unused(indicates only 155 hours use and 140 on/off cycles) Tek 2465B(serial# B061873. Vintage 9/1991, cost $9000 new) I AM WILLING TO END IT FOR 1ST BIDDER without accessories, but if you want the accessories, use BUY IT NOW. 2465B was Tek's best selling hi performance portable analog scope from late 1988 to late 1996. The last series from the"repairable era" When I started selling on ebay in 2000, I said I'd still be able to take care of them for at least another 10 years. If someone were to ask now if I'll still be able to take care of them in 2020, the answer may depend more on my health than that of the 2465B population. Taking me out of the equation, the only"canary in the coalmine" I can offer to predict how long they'll be maintainable is that the plain(original) 2465 is about ... more6 years older and still repairable. Total demise of 2465 may therefore serve as the 6 year warning for the 2465B. This is a far better prognosis than newer scopes that become e-waste 1st time they break(such as TDSs) 1st photo shows risetime of a fast rise 1MHz 1Vpp square wave as 1.05 nS(the reason it isn't only 0.88nS is because my square wave source does not have an instant rise) 2nd photo shows that it has had 155 hours' use. 3rd photo shows 1KHz tickmarks from a Tek TG501 with cursers separated by 8mS. those same 1mS tickmarks in dual time base mode with the 2nd time base running 10X faster than the slower. 5th photo shows the result of"auto-measure volts" on a 2Vpp 1KHz signal from a Tek PG506. 6th photo shows same signal as measured by vertical curser separation. 7th photo shows rear of scope. $10 BIN gets you the Tek IC 165-2393-00 which is very similar to 155-0237-00 U600 vertical out IC used in 24_ scopes. These are used. But still good. Tek made these as 1 product off 1 fab line and labeled them with 1 of 2 part numbers after testing each for bandwidth as either: part# 155-0237-00 if they passed on the right half of the(Gaussian) bell curve, or as part# 165-2393-00 if they passed on the left side. Roughly speaking, 165-2393-00 will limit a 400MHz scope's bandwidth to about 360MHz, whereas a 155-0237-00 will let it work to around 450MHz. This means there is no reason to have the better one in a 2445, 2445A, or 2445B, but there is good reason to use them in 2465B and 2467B. 2465 and 2465A leave you a choice of little consequence. New models available that year were the 2213. 2215, 2335, 2336, and 2337. They offered excellent portability along with light weight and low power consumption. Very rugged, they were rated to withstand 50g! Most of this was due to the simplification of circuit design, and a light weight but very well designed switching power supply. Compared to the weight and complexity of the 400-series, they were a dream. These early models were limited in bandwidth. But ... morein 1984, that changed with the introduction of the 2465 and little brother, the 2445. Not only did they have 4 channels, but the 2465 bandwidth was 300 mHz, with triggering to match. Completely micro-processor driven and firmware controlled, these were a new breed, similiar in appearance but not otherwise related to the 2200 scopes. By 1989, the 2465B had brought 400 mHz bandwidth with triggering beyond 500 mHz to the table. The peak of the 2000-series seems to be in 1984. When there were no less than 21 models introduced for a total of 33 models offered. The 2430, the 2432A, the 2465B and the 2467B lasted until 1996. By the 1997 catalog, there were no longer 2000-series listed. Still, a run of 14 years in this rapid-change business only says good things about these models and the vision of those that produced them. I'm selling 2 of my own scopes that were my own workhorses. This one here is 2465BDM with all options but TV. It was my backup scope for my main 2465BDV that I used for my own work. The other one. In a separate auction, is 2465BDV- almost the same but WITH Video option. Everything else(GPIB, CTT, WR, Multimeter) is the same. Item description will be almost identical for both scopes(it takes too much time to write separate detailed descriptions. Photos are of the actual scope except multimeter reading that is the same for both of them and I somehow forget to take a picture for both of theme so only one shown. I'm not making business selling scopes. Just selling my own stuff I no longer need. That means those scopes were fully refurbished with care for my own use, not just to sell them i.e. I did it for myself so I did not cut any corners ... moreor made any compromises. The reason I'm selling those is simple- I purchased a couple of fully loaded 2467B scopes with multiple issues some time ago and restored them to fully working condition. I won't be quoting 2465B specs- those who know 2465B don't need them and those who do need specs don't need 2465B: Those 2 scopes were fully refurbished(finished last August or so) for my own use. By that time they had fresh Li batteries installed so those are one year old now and will definitely last for at leas 10 more years(there is a sticker with installation date on each battery.
