Here's a very nice used cylindrical square by Taft Peirce. 4 diameter. 8"tall. Minor surface rust beginning on cylinder wall. Cylinder ends are in excellent condition. In oak wood box. A little chewed on one corner-still protects the piece. Latch works. Great piece of inspection gear in very good condition. No nicks or scratches i could find. You are bidding on a Cylindrical Square made at Taft Peirce Manufacturing Company when they were located in Woonsocket. RI. This cylindrical square was used for manufacture and inspection at Taft Peirce by the toolmakers in the grinding department. Made of all hardened and ground Tool Steel The item is not labeled Taft Peirce but I know for certain it is genuine. Made in June 1941 by employee C. E. Lavallee. Measures 2 3/16" diameter by 4 1/8" tall. Very similar to Square pictured in the 1943 Taft Peirce Handbook of Machine Tool Equipment, page 101.
