Brown& Sharpe 6" bevelled edge master square model 542. This item is in great condition. I listed it as used but I have owned it new and my guess is I have used it only a couple of times. The edges still have that sharp grind feel with no scratches or nicks. From several years of storage even lightly oiled a few surface rust spots have formed. The largest being shown in the closeup photo. I'm sure a light rub with some Naval Jelly will cleanup these few areas. When I purchased this item it came in a Brown& Sharpe cardboard box so there is not the usual wood case included in this auction.

This is a used Brown and Sharpe machinist's square. It was made in Providence. RI. It comes in a nice wooden case with a latch. The square shows very little signs of use. The box show some normal signs of use. The number'542' is stamped on the square near the manufacturer's name. I'm not sure if it is a serial number or a model number.
