This is sort of an old school cylinder square. It came out of an inspection department from a machine tool distributor. It is old but very high quality. It is roughly 12 inches tall plus another 1 1/4 or so for the base. The base is about 6 inches in diameter and the cylinder is about 1 3/8 inch diameter. Precision Cylinder Square Toolmaker Made With Wood Storage Case
For sale is a very nice used 3" diameter cylindrical square with a padded wooden storage box. Both made by a journeyman toolmaker friend of mine several years ago while he was training at Ford Motor Company. The square is hardened and precision ground and measures 2.961" in diameter and 4.111" tall. There are 4 lightening holes thru the length of the square. One center point hole in each end that was used in the manufacturing process, and four, 1/4" tapped holes in one end for mounting the square to a base if desired. This square is in excellent used condition, with no blemishes, scratches, or engravings of any kind.
