Sawyer Tool Co. 2 " Machinest Square
Sawyer Tool Co. 2" Machinest Square. Inscribed with Sawyer Tool Co. Fitchburg Mass. and the previous owners name. Sawyer was in Fitchburg to about 1912 than moved. This tool is at least 100 years old. Some surface tarnish on the front and minor pitting on the back. I made no attempt to clean this up to hide the imperfections.

Starrett No. 55 3" Beveled Edge Machinest Square USA
This listing is for a used Starrett No. 55 3" square machinests' tool. The square is in decent shape. Though does have a fair amount of surface rust, as you can see in the photos. It also bears the inscription"A G Cade" on it. The edges are in good shape with no significant dents or divots, and are still pretty sharp. This tool needs a little TLC to be brought back to life. Starrett Master Precision Machinest Solid Square Model 20 - 18"
Purchased at an auction at least 20 years ago. It has a unique feature found on the early ones only which is a slideable tab on the heavy base. For the longest time nobody could figure out what it was. Finally someone showed up on a forum and matter of factly informed everybody that the tab slides out and helps to hold the piece on the work when holding it aloft or in an difficult position. So it has that going for it plus its size 22" over all length 10.5" base. Its condition I would call almost excellent. The only marks are the ID# from the shop it used to be in at Lockheed. The 18" size is not made by Starrett at this time. Comes with a nifty carrying case.
