This Wassco Glo-Melt resistance soldering unit worked well the last time I used it. When I purchased it. I replaced the AC cord, fixed a connection on the front that was missing some hardware and I changed out the handle/ground wiring with#4 welding cable. The welding cable is a high-strand-count cable that is very flexible and easy to work with. The jacket is resistant to damage from hot metal drops. These same units are sold under the"American Beauty" brand name now with a new more stylish case. But pretty much the same internal parts. This unit comes with all of the items pictured. The one item I am not including is a foot pedal to switch the unit on and off. It isn't required for operation. But it makes it safer and easier to work with if you have one. I use the same foot pedal with another device and would swap it between ... morethe two since I have been too cheap to buy another one. The shipping weight is 28lbs. I plan to double box this unit and cushion it as best as I can. The density of this station makes bubble pack. My belief is that it works, however the outer insulation is cut on the cord where it connects to the unit, so it might be advisable to inspect and possibly replace the wiring prior to using it. Please examine the photos carefully as this can be seen in the fifth photograph. As I have not tested it I am selling this"as is" It looks like it would be easily disassembled and anyone with some electrical knowledge should be able to make any repairs that might be needed. American Beauty Resistance Soldering Power Unit, No Electrode Cables, Tested.
Up for auction is an American Beauty Resistance Soldering Power Unit model 105-CITL(1.800 Watts) Unfortunately I do not have the electrode cables that go with this unit. It does have a power cord attached and a removable foot control. I intentionally removed the top cover and took pictures of the inside to show you that all is nice and clean and undamaged in there. I also took a couple of pictures showing various voltage output levels. This is a very heavy item and the postage cost reflects this. The postage quoted is for delivery to the East Coast, the closer to San Diego you live the progressively cheaper it will be. San Diego bidders are always welcome to collect an item personally and save postage completely.
