Both working(shown in the second photo) Each pencil has its own tip- one fine and the other broad(shown in the last photo) Temperature of the soldering station is determined by the tip that is used. Heat ranges go from 600 to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. Both tips with the station are 700 degree tips. This particular station features a potted transformer that keeps its cool after many hours of use(shown in the third photo) And t his station was always kept in its original box- that will be included with the set. Clean Refurbished WTCPT 60 Watts/120V Temperature Controlled Soldering Station
This guy went on the fritz so I replaced the SW60 switch unit in the TC201T pencil unit and it now works grand. In the interim. I got myself a replacement unit so this is now pare to my needs. It is very clean and I added heatshrinking to the handle of the pencil so it has a MUCH BETTER gripping surface. Works absolutely fine and I am including all of my spare tips(the stubby one is an"8" or 800 degree tip while the others are"7" or seven hundred degrees) This little guy has had some adventures: put my Elecraft K-2 together with it. A couple of Dave Benson's SW-+ rigs, a 2N2-40, all kinds of OHR stuff and God only knows what else. Goodness knows, I shall miss her. Offered at a fair price(about half of a new unit) and represnets a decent value for any cash-strapped hobbyist with a need or desire to melt solder. It is seems to be working like it should. The thermostat works and the tip heats up. Under the knob is an opening marked LOCK but there is no knob in the opening. So. I don't know what that is supposed to do. The cords on the station and on the iron are not damaged in any way.
