International IEC 940 Swinging Bucket Centrifuge Rotor
International IEC 940 Centrifuge Rotor This auction is for an International IEC Centrifuge Rotor model 940. This is an enclosed swinging bucket rotor with four matched 1671 shields. And a 12,000 RPM max rotational speed. I don’t believe this was designed to be a sealed rotor system. Which is good, because the outfit that I bought it from appears to have dropped it. The lid is dinged on the edged facing you in the picture. At about 4 o’clock relative to the printing on the lid. It isn’t badly damaged as I think you can see. But the lid is slightly”sprung” meaning it doesn’t seat all the way around like it ought to. Close. But not quite. I tried to straighten it some. But basically everything I do seems to push the small gap between the lid and the bowl/cover to a different spot, so I gave up. You might be able to do better. But I would expect ... moreto have a narrow gap on one side or the other with the lid installed. Please take that into consideration. I do not see any damage to the body of the rotor itself. Only to the lid. I do not know which IEC centrifuges this will fit. It doesn’t show up in my older catalogs so I have no cross reference for it and no experience with it. You will have to decide for yourself if it is suited to your application. Nor can I tell you what the 1671 buckets will hold. Please check out my for more interesting lab equipment.
