This auction is for the right angle plate casting that supports some brands of rotary tables at 90 degrees(vertical) on a milling machine table This one measures about 12" tall by 8-13/16" wide by 10-1/16" deep. The mounting holes spacing is as follows; See picture#4; the diagonal spacing between the top and bottom mounting holes is about 10-1/32" approx. 255mm) See picture#5; the top two mounting holes are about 6-11/16" wide apart(approx. 170mm) See picture#6; The bottom two mounting holes are about 3-1/8" apart(approx. 80mm) This casts still has it's original paint from when new It has some paint chipped off in a few spots and a little very light surface oxidation in a few spots where the bare cast iron was exposed But this could easily be cleaned up with a 3M Scotch-bright pad. Up for auction is a pair of vintage Atlas vise jaws including a of shop-made movable jaw. These fit the Atlas/Craftsman cross slide x/y table used on drill presses. The table top from that is also used as a boring table on Atlas/Craftsman lathes. So these can be used to hold work for boring on the table. Note that the Atlas/Craftsman cross slide x/y table or boring table is NOT INCLUDED! The block and bolts have good threads. The original nuts that clamp in the t-slots are there. There are some minor dings. Paint chips and spots of rust, but overall they are in very good shape. There are no cracks or repairs. The vise includes a shop-made movable jaw. Astoba / Hommel rotary table for milling machine
This is the manufacturer's accessory rotary table for the Astoba line of multi-purpose benchtop metalworking machine tool. Also marketed under the Hommel brand. It works with either machine and, of course, in any application where a device of this size is appropriate. This particular example of the Astoba rotary table is in excellent condition. The chuck/faceplate threads are crisp with no damage. The spindle thread pitch match those of my OEM Astoba chucks and faceplates. The wrinkle black finish is clean and intact with no chips or worn away areas. I disassembled the unit, cleaned and inspected the worm and wheel which I found to be in excellent condition with no damage and no apparent wear. The spindle turns very smooth with no stiction. The spindle tension/locking lever adjusts finely for creating any desired degree of drag, but still ... morelocks positively for milling/ drilling operations. The wheel/worm ratio is 1:36. The handwheel has a resetable Vernier graduated with ten long numbered graduations(marked 0-9) with eleven medium and short length alternating unnumbered graduations between ajacent long ones(i.e. the next long numbered graduation would be the 12th, so there are 120 total graduations per handwheel rotation, and 36 handwheel rotations for one full turn of the chuck/face spindle) The graduations and numbers are finely engraved(not stamped) and clearly visable. It is a finely constructed, Swiss-built accessory which broadens the utility of your Astoba or Hommel machine. It would also be very usable on other similarly sized machines. Total travel of the stage is about 5" The unit has slots in the bottom for mounting. The top table measures about 6.5" x 7.5" Weight of the unit is about 51 pounds. Used item in good physical condition. There are some signs of light rust on the base plate of the unit(see photos) There is some backlash when switching directions on all the axis. Bridgeport Style Right Angle Bracket Pedestal Base Rotary Table Milling Machine
This auction is for the right angle pedestal base casting that supports some brands of rotary tables at 90 degrees(vertical) on a milling machine table This one measures about 12" tall by 8-13/16" wide by 10-1/16" deep. The mounting holes spacing is as follows; See picture#4; the diagonal spacing between the top and bottom mounting holes is about 10-1/32" approx. 255mm) See picture#5; the top two mounting holes are about 6-11/16" wide apart(approx. 170mm) See picture#6; The bottom two mounting holes are about 3-1/8" apart(approx. 80mm) This casting still has it's original paint from when new It has some paint chipped off in a few spots and a little very light surface oxidation in a few spots where the bare cast iron was exposed But this could easily be cleaned up with a 3M Scotch-bright pad.
