IRC WW4J Precision Resistor Switched gang array 0.1 ohm (1/10 ohm)
This is a collection of 10(ten) IRC precision(0.5% tolerance) wire-wound power resistors. Arranged on a circular phenolic disk a bit over 3-in in diameter, and wired sequentially to a 12-position rotary switch. Each resistor is wired in series thru the switch, therefore the switch will place across the terminals(the cut wires in the photos) any value from 0.1 ohm(1/10 of an ohm) to 1-ohm, in 0.1 ohm steps. The additional 2 steps on the switch are open and short, respectively. The whole thing mounts in a panel hole via a threaded post(similar to standard potentiometer) under the knob. The resistors themselves are power wire-wound. Type WW4J, with labeled accuracy of 1/2 percent(0.5% The resistors are in excellent condition, with no discoloration due to overheating. VINTAGE VICTOREEN#177 PRECISION GLASS ENCAPSULATED RESISTOR. 1,000 MEGOHMS, 1% USED. ThIs is a unique high quality vintage American-made precision resistor. The Victoreen company has a deservedly stellar reputation for excellent products. The resistor is sealed in a glass tube which measures 1 3/4" long by 3/16" diam. The wire leads are 1" and 3/4" long. I found this resistor about 30 years ago while cleaning out the parts room of a scientific laboratory. It had apparently been used briefly since the wire leads had been shortened. I kept it thinking I might have some use for it. But have finally decided that it is surplus to my needs. It has been tested and easily passed the tests. This vintage resistor with such high resistance is rather rare, so my price is quite a bargain.
