Fender Gold Label 10" speaker from 4-10" cabinet, 1990's 8 ohms, 30 watts
Up for bid is a slightly used Fender Gold Label 10" speaker from about 1995 which may have been from a Fender Blues Deville 4- 10" enclosure. Still in great condition: no rips or tears in the cone. Cone moves freely. Rated 8 ohms, 30 watts. It has marks on the frame that shows at one time it was installed in an amp, but that's it! I hooked it up to my Princeton Reverb II and it works nicely. When I cranked the amp up a bit it went into some sweet feedback! No crackling or rattling. Since this is an old speaker I can't make any guarantees other than it works so we'll start the auction at $0.99 and see what happens. Low hours on this since I don't play much anymore. And I've never played in a loud band so it was never pushed hard at all. Nice Fendery alnico tone. Plenty of bass. Warm mids and sparkling highs. Fender Vibrosonic Reverb 100 watts with pull boost master volume.1975 as close as I know. The Vibrosonic is identical to the Twin Reverb. Except it is 8 ohm instead of 4 ohm. So this amp matches up with any 8 ohm speaker, or a pair of 16 ohm speakers wired parrallel. Vibrosonics sold new in a combo cab with one 15" 8 ohm speaker, whereas the Twin Reverb sold in a combo cab with two 12" speakers that were 8 ohms each wired parrallel to give the Twin a total of 4 ohms. This amp is with no issues-was serviced by a 40 year veteran Fender tube amp tech. Approximately 24 months ago. I used the amp(I play pedal steel guitar) with a pair of 8 ohm(plug one into the extension jack) JBL K130 15" speakers in extension cabs, to lighten the weight, and keep the head near me on stage for easy tweeking. There is no foot stich, but the amp is set up so you do not need it. Pre-amp tubes are of various brands. But correct to Fender tube charts. The power tubes are RCA Blackplates-difficult and expensive to get this day and age. I do have a stash of NOS Jan Philips 6L6GC's if you prefer those over the RCA's, I'll trade them out before shipping. The Philips are cleaner for pedal steel, but the RCA's lend themselves better to 6 string guitar work. The power tubes will be packed seperately and carefully. This amp is set up for clean tone. But if you need crunch, a few simple adjustment by a tube amp tech can voice it for early break-up that rockers and blues players like. As the amp is now, think clean country and nice fat jazz tone. Here is for sale a Celestion blue loudspeaker. 12" 15 watts 8 ohms. I played this speaker for the 3 last years. This speaker was never gigged only played at home at room volume. Items sold include what is described and pictured. Which from time to time may not include all the accessories included with the items original new purchase package. Our items are used and arrive in our hands with limited accessories. Up for auction is a GK GALLIEN-KRUEGER BI-AMP SPEAKER CABINET- MODEL NEO 212- 2X12" 600W, 8 OHMS! Included in the auction is the cabinet only, exactly as shown in the photos provided. This great bi-amp speaker cabinet is in good used condition, with the expected wear& tear when purchasing used musical equipment, though there are no major issues. There are multiple scuffs& scratches, some small rips/tears in the tolex, some parts where the tolex is separating from the cabinet, but that should be easily repaired with the some glue. There's also a faded spot on the top of the cabinet that goes ... moredown to where the name plate it is on the upper part of the grill, appears to have been caused by some tape being removed& leaving old residue behind that has since caused the tolex underneath to discolor. In addition, the stackable corners on the edges of the cabinet are a little rough too, with several scratches/scuffs/scrapes on them(though they still stack just fine) please see close-up photo example provided to get a better idea of what the corners look like. Even with these minor cosmetic issues, it's still a great cabinet that doesn't look all that bad(just like it's been used in performances& hauled around some, which it has) it functions just great! We've fully tested the cabinet, have confirmed that everything on it works exactly as it should. This awesome Gallien-Krueger cabinet has a very clear tone with some"thump" to it as well! The difference between this model& it's replacement. The NEO 212 II, is that this one is older& has 2 tweeters, whereas the version II doesn't appear to have any tweeters. The unique magnet structure features a laminated two piece back plate, laminated two piece iron ferrite magnetic material and a wedged shaped top plate. I checked my vintage speaker inventory and realized that I have far more than I will ever use. So. Over the next few months I am selling off part of my vintage speaker stash. First on the block are what many consider the"holy grail" of guitar speakers. These are 8-ohm Vox-labeled Celestion alnicos with the now discontinued and soon to be extinct Pulsonic 102 003 cones. These particular speakers date to 1969(hence the later gold sticker) and came out of Thomas Organ amps such as Beatles, Series 90s or Royal Guardsmen. I saved them over the years because I knew if I blew up one of my speakers, a reconed version would never sound the same. This speaker is exactly the same as the late 1967 version of the T1088 speaker used in late JMI Vox amps that had the same cone. And rate around 20-25 watts. The only cosmetic difference is the basket ... morehas a terminal flange in each hole instead of one. This was a change in late 1968 to all the Celestion alnicos. I have 7(seven) of these to sell altogether. Price is for one speaker. Most vintage sound aficionados agree that these speakers are far superior the the blue alnicos made today.
