SCMI Model S630 24" Wide Thickness Planer 4 Blade/Knife Cutter Head
Up for bid is a SCMI 24" thickness planer model# S630. I switched the voltage to 208/230 3 phase so I could test it as I don't have 460 volt in my warehouse. Which the machine was wired for before I changed it. It runs smooth and quiet for a planer this size. The only thing I couldn't get to work was the digital height gauge, which I think will take moving a wire on the transformer. It still goes up and down and height can be read by the gauge on table. There's even an alarm or sensor that will not let you move the table too high at one time so you don't get your board stuck. Here are a few more specs. Model- S630 Matr. AB/103913 Ref. 101218 Comp. I upgraded to a spiral cutter-head and no longer need this. The bearings seem to be tight and was in good working order when I took it out. This is for a powermatic 201 planer. I am selling my planer. It has been used approx 10 times. No issues with this planer. Great power, I have been very happy with it. I am getting out of wood working. That is the only reason I am selling it, or I would keep it. I have had it approx 8 months. It will come with blades, and I will also provide another gently used pair also with purchase. I just would like someone to use it and put it to work. Yes its a little dirty, just sawdust, thats what it does. Blades are easy to change, and I will send owners manual with it, which shows you how to change. Its a great buy if you want almost new but not the new cost.

Auction is for one planer knife setting gage. It comes as shown with a precision Yuasa dial indicator and a BCG base. Yuasa is a Japanese maker of precision tools and is on par with Starrett in quality. We have a 20" Powermatic planer in the shop and this is one of the best setting tools out there. I can set 4 knives with this gage in about 30 minutes. Try changing an insert head in that time. I have also used those magnetic gages and they are junk if you want your knives set to thousands of an inch. I am selling it because we have a new planer on order and will not need it on the new planer. Anyway, I have not used it on a jointer but it should work fine.
