You are bidding on a used Johnny Morris JMX10HB right handed reel. The reel has a 6.3:1 gear ratio featuring a 10 bearing system. The reel is in good cosmetic condition but does have some slight discoloring on the crank side plate. Mechanically. The reel works great and is very smooth. One thing to note is the dial on the left side plate does not work. The centrifugal braking system on the spool and cast control on crank side work great though and the reel performs just as well or better than it did with the dial on the side. But with the single grip& counter balanced handle, and the lack of a level wind mechanism, I would have to guess that it's a fairly early reel(perhaps the 1920's) It's in good to VG condition, and it is marked"Pflueger Buckeye" with the Pflueger Bulldog trade mark. The grip on the handle looks like bone or ivory, but could be plastic(not sure if plastic was available then) The right side plate has 4 screws, and two of them have wide washers on the outside. Vintage Pocket Fisherman Spin Cast Rod Reel Popeil + Old Cricket Bait Bucket
The following auction is for a vintage Popeil Pocket Fisherman and a Cricket Bucket. The items are used and really dirty.They both need cleaned up badly. They show some wear.But I think they could both be used with a little TLC. Here is what you get- Cricket Wire Bucket-Measures about 6 inches high. 6 inches across,and has a 3.5 in hole. The bucket is a little rusty and tarnished. There are some dents and dings in it,but its not rusted through or is there any ripped spots in the screen. It still has the plastic pull up piece in the bucket hole- Popeil Pocket FIsherman-This is really dirty and needs cleaned up. I did pull the trigger and the string releases. It then reels the line back up. It felt like it needed oiled a little bit. I would also replace the string.
