I do not know much about reels but will try ... moreand describe. This is my fathers. There is a green fly line on the reel as you see in pictures. This reel is marked as you see in picture 3. K-Mart 55. on the bottom of the reel foot it shows. Japan. As you see in picture 1 it has a large wind up knob that is basically the whole side, that is the knob you turn to wind the reel spring. When you push down on the lever that sticks out from the reel the reel spool turns to wind up the line and seems to work good/smooth. As you look at the pictures you can see it does have some light scuf/scratches but reel nice condition. This reel is in good condition as you can see and does seem to work good and would be a good reel for your fishing seasons. Buyer pays the shipping.U.S.P.S. The rest of the reel is made of aluminium. This is a vintage piece in working order. There are places where the red has worn and there is wear and scratches on the aluminium portions. This was purchased from a local estate and we have not cleaned or done anything to the reel. It does have fly line on it. All parts do work and it clicks properly when you pull the line out and the automatic winder does wind the line in. I have noticed that the spring will release after a five or six turns not allowing you to wind it as tight as it should be. This probably needs some adjustment or attention.
