Rare. Pair of Victorian Architectural Wood Salvage Corbels Brackets. From the 1890's, these measure 24 inches tall, 15 inches wide and is 3 1/4 inches thick. This pair of Corbels was specially hand carved for the particular house where they came from. Because of their extremely old age, the paint is chipping in places, which gives it character, however the wood seems to be in very good condition. HEAVY CARVED POLYCHROME SOLID WOOD SET ANTIQUE CHINESE DOORS GATE FRAME CORBELS
Talk about an unusual Charleston estate auction find. here is an incredible heavy carved polychrome solid wood Chinese door or heavy gate with a cross beam and side beam frame as well as the heavy raised panel doors with all their original iron fittings. This is an old Chinese door and is extremely heavy as well as somewhat primitive on the unfinished sides of the beams. The polychrome paint is quite worn but is still quite evident and adds so much character to an already gorgeous detailed yet functional heavy door. I have included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design. Quality, condition and overall beauty of this delightful antique door. Unfotunately I do not know any additional provenance on the door or have any definitive explanation as to how it arrived in our fair city, though with it being a port ... morecity and with the sheer size and weight, my guess is whenever it came to the US, it was most assuredly by boat long ago. The standing door frame itself is 78 inches tall by 68 inches wide at it's widest points. At beams which extend and is constructed of huge beams 4 1/2 inches wide.The inside doorway entrance(inside the standing frame) is 63 1/2 inches tall and 39 1/4 inches wide, with a bottom crossbeam one would have to step over to enter. In addition there is a large crossbeam I believe goes overhead, hooking into the corbels, 68 inches long by 8 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches thick. There are also two side beams each 73 1/4 inches long by 6 1/2 inches wide by 3 inches thick and the two corbels, carved from blocks roughly 21 1/2 inches by 12 inches by 8 inches. The two raised panels doors, which shut from behind the door frame, are 74 1/2 inches tall and very heavy, ready for locking out the enemy. Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Architectural Corbels Lot of 7 Matching salvage
This auction is for a lot of seven(7) matching antique vintage victorian wooden architectural corbels. They were original pieces removed from our 1896 Victorian home as part of a remodeling project. Each one measures approximately 7.5" deep x 3.5" wide x 16.5" tall. They were painted a long time ago but the paint could be stripped or painted over. A couple of them are still attached to small portions of the underside of the small roof area where they were mounted above the bay window(see photos) 2 of the 7 were broken during removal. But the breaks are clean and you'd never be able to tell the difference between them and the other 5 when re-installed. They could easily just be wood-glued and the crack would disappear. I tried to show these breaks in the photos, with examples of each one apart and then held together. Outstanding Large Sculpted Wood Figurehead Corbels
These are a phenomenal pair of figural corbels. I almost called them Green Men but they have a more feminine look. They show indications of being joined to a larger piece(see the joinery notch on the last photo) There are a few nicks and scrapes but overall they are in good condition. Each piece is a large 21" x 11" x 7" Many items I am selling came from a furniture and designcompany that went out of business in 1997. Stayed at a fabulous B&B in South Dakota- made even more heaven by the fact that they also had an antique store on the property. I shopped in several other locations in both states and brought home some great primitives. Advertising, pottery, and all in all interesting finds. Before I left, I went to a new farm auction, and an estate auction- so I have a BUNCH of new items this week- I’ll be posting every day, so be sure to check back! I love these wonderful corbels. There's so many things you can do with them- from using them on/in your house. To making them shelf brackets, to decorative accents. They are original late 1800s farmhouse corbels, and they are awesome. Made from solid ... morewood, it's a matching set of 4, all with layers and layers of old white paint- thick with it, and it's shabby worn, crackled and chipped of in many spots. I left the old square iron nails just as I found them- they are sticking out of the wood, so you have to be careful when you remove them. Each corbel measures 10 3/16" by 6 1/4" and the wood is a solid 1 3/4" thick. Each one weighs a little over 1 lb. All are in excellent solid and sturdy condition except one, that is missing the very tip of the end of its short side- see photo 12 where I'm showing you the chipped one on the right and a non-chipped one on the left. It's missing the very curly up piece on the top- it's shallow, so it's really hard to notice. When you look at the photos of all 4 corbels together- it's always the one on the far right- see how hard it is to notice? I'm sorry for the foggy pictures- it's so steamy here right now, my camer lens keeps fogging up! Please supersize and look at all- they are rustic in appearance due to their shabby chipp[y paint, and they all need a good cleaning- some have spots of a grey substance that feels like plaster to me- see

Estate find is this PAIR of Old ARCHITECTURAL WOOD CORBELS that are very HEAVY Does have old white chippy paint and some pieces are missing on the bottom as photo shows They were held up by Big Bolts as you see the holes into the corbels I am sure they can be cleaned up and look wonderful in any setting.They are 14' HIGH BY 23 1/2' LONG AND ARE 3' THICK.I BELIEVE THEY ARE PINE! These are TWO Antique Vintage Architectural Salvaged CORBELS.this is lot B Each measures 6 3/4" tall. AND each measures 8" wide. AND each measures 4" deep.NOT including the wooden piece of wood that sticks out on each of them.if you include this they each measure 5" deep. They are NOT new. Please expect to see wear.to include that you hands will get dirty handling them.I only wiped them down and not put any water on them.AND nails are sticking out.one longer one that I can cut off if you would like me to. They work VERY Nicely as bookends.PLEASE Look at the pictures. THOUGH I can see them as Brackets holding a Mantle Shelf.or Wall Shelf. These are VERY Nicely Made and Strong.
