We have 7 Beautiful Antique Heart Pine Beams available. Lengths from 265" to 286" Widths from 16" to 19" Beams are about 2 1/4" thick. Price is for a single beam. Last picture shows a piece made into a shallow bowl and finished. To our best knowledge these started life as beams in a factory in Louisville. Kentucky and have to be more than 100 years old. They were moved to a family farm near Glendale, Kentucky and used in a barn in the 50's. We salvaged them when the barn was torn down and they have been stored inside since salvaged. Antique Heart Pine Beams Reclaimed 9 x 9 x 120 Mantle
This is a reclaimed heart pine beam that was salvaged from a NC textile mill that was built in 1904. That along with the fact the beams were 100-150 years old when cut make these beams at least 200- 250 years old. The quality and the condition are incredible. Dimension are 9" x 9" x 120" I have 2 of these and both are relatively flaw free. Price is for one beam. I can ship these via motor freight at a reasonable cost or cut in half and ship via UPS. 104 Antique Reclaimed Hand Hewn and Pit Sawn Barn Beams
This listing is for 104 reclaimed barn beams as detailed in the list below. These beams have been stored in the barn in the background of the pictures for the last 25 years. They were reclaimed from several different barns in the late 80's and early 90's. They range in size from two center beams that are 10" x 12" and 34 feet long down to a top plate that is 5" x 6" and 15 feet long. We needed to clean out the barn in a hurry so we had to move them outside. That is why we need to sell them quickly before they start to rot. We estimate that 80% of the beams are hard woods and 20% are pine. There is about a 50/50 mix of Hand Hewn and Pit Sawn beams. There is a total of approximately 1.900 running feet and over 10,000 board feet. This large amount of beams will require a tractor trailer to haul them away. The winner ... moreof the auction must be able to provide a flatbed trailer onsite for a week in Bucks County Pennsylvania to allow us to load them on the trailer. This is an all or nothing auction. We will not sell individual beams. Note that Hewn barn beams are beams that are cut and shaped with an axe and date to the 1800′s or earlier. Pit Sawn beams date between the early 1800's up to the turn of the 20th century and have a smoother finish. But you can still see the original saw marks. The marks left by the saw are irregular, uneven cuts made from the strokes of the large saw used by two men. One man stood in a pit and the other man stood on top of the log above the pit sawing the log between them. The men's changing hand and body positions caused the irregular cuts.
