Antique Large One Handle Woodworking Elbow Scorp Draw Knife Unusual Blade
From an old timer's estate with the neatest old tools. Some we knew what they were, some we did not. Here is one that stumped us all. You probably know what it is, it is heavy, real heavy, certainly needs a clean up, but there is lots of steel in this thing and it is a blade all the way from the handle to the end, has the elbow, lot of things you could imagine doing with it, but not sure what it was originally made to do. This is a lot of 4 Antique/Vintage Ratcheting hand brace drills for woodwork. The blue one is Stanley. The Two without the broken handle knob are Miller Falls. The one with the broken wood handle knob is unknown but I can make out the number 1880 on it. All four are used with some rust and wear from use and age. I believe they would clean up nicely. Millers Falls 733 8" brace drill w 8 bits Irwin old vintage woodworking tools
Very old Millers Falls No. 733 8 inch ratcheting brace drill with 8 bits. Drill has some finish loss to wood and metal with signs of prior rust but overall is clean and ready to be put to work. Jaws and chuck are excellent and all moving parts work freely as they should. The 8 bits are used with rust and finish loss evident but I think will work as expected. Irwin pattern bits are largely a mix of brands with Irwin Mainbor Fulton? Union. Perfect, style with loss of finish and are 16, 14, 12, 12, 8 and 8. An expansive bit marked B H& M Co. A Stanley No. 64 ½“Sweetheart” and an Unmarked Double Gauge No. 71 which can be used as a Marking Gauge or a Mortising Gauge. As indicated in John Walter’s Stanley Tools, the No 64 ½ is made of beech wood, with brass trim, oval head and brass thumbscrew; 8” in length. The Marked indicates it was made in the 1920s. The Gauge shows average wear; the internal threads for the thumbscrew are worn but working. The Unmarked No 71 Double Gauge is made of beech, brass plated head with bars, brass thumbscrews and brass shoes; 8” in length. Vintage King Wood Woodworking Carpenters Hand Tool Cast Iron & Wood Scribe Gauge
Here we have this vintage cast iron and wood scribe tool by King. This is a rare hard to find collectible piece. Looks like it will make about a 13' full circle on the small side and up to about a 23" circle on the high side. The wood base is approximately 12 inches long. The crank is a little stiff in its' movement. But I think a shot of oil would make a world of difference. I didn't oil it because I didn't want to change it from the way it was found. I am not really all that familiar with these old scribes so, please see pictures as they show style and condition best. This woodworking tool has some nicks in the wood section and some discoloration and rust to the cast iron portion as would be expected from an old used tool.
