This beautiful vintage box is made of red cedar wood. The box has a brass latch. Hinges, and safety catch, and it has a mirror inside which is outlined with gold paper. The cover has an incised leaf and floral pattern and a lovely paper scene of a cottage by a stream with colorful autumn foliage. This is a large sized box with dimensions of 10 5/8" x 6 1/8" x 4 5/8" It is a well-made box with tongue-and-groove side joints and beveled edges on the cover. The box is pre-owned, and the bottom has been replaced. The inside bottom is lined with floral pattern paper. This would make a great box for jewelry, dresser items, or keepsakes. Beautiful Red Cedar Wood Box With Heart Key To Make A 3 String Cigar Box Guitar
This vintage late 40's to mid 50's cedar pine wood box with lock and heart key is absolutely perfect for making an awesome vintage one of a kind cigar box blues guitar. Box still has a faint scent of roses. These are frequently mis-listed as salesmen's samples but rarely are found with the key. I see just the key selling for $17.50 on eBay. These were advertising jewelry boxes to advertise where furniture was purchased from They were often given with a larger furniture purchase and kept on a chest of drawers in bedrooms. They also make excellent boxes for Tarot cards storing cash or jewelry and are very nice vintage collectibles. This one particularly so due to it still having the key. Excellent aged patina with lovely knots in the top. Nice large knot near the front rim. Finish is a rose red with satin varnish. Handy? Keep the ... morebox, trace it and cut a copy of the key and resell just the key to reduce your overall cost. Also included is a vintage three string gear and peg tuner with white peg keys plus the four mounting screws freshly removed from a vintage acoustic guitar which would go toward re-purposing this awsome box into a three string vlues guitar. The setup on this one is about 35mm spacing between the pegs. You're most of the way there for a three string blues guitar- you need a neck. The shelf is 12 inches wide, 2 inches tall and you have about 1 3/8" depth for ornament display on the shelf.

EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE CEDAR WOOD CYLINDER RED OXBLOOD COLOR BUTTER CHURN Up for sale is this wonderful antique primitive table top butter churn with shoe feet. It features old wood staved or slat construction with metal bands. Old slot screws and a cool old handle. It has what I believe to be it's original oxblood red color- if not original than older for sure. These are beautiful and hard to find and is complete with the original hand crank, lid and wooden churn wheel or blades inside. The churn is made from wood(cedar most likely) and has two metal bands around the churn to hold it together. It has a metal hand crank with a wooden handle that moves the wood paddles inside. It looks to have been used very little. The paddles do have red paint on them and in good working order and they squeak a little when going around. The metal ... moreband on the back has a small amount of very light white overspray on it as shown in the last picture. The lid does fit nicely and appears to be original to the piece but is not painted- it is a nice warm patina brown wood. The churn measures 14 3/4" high x 10" deep without handle and 16" deep including the handle. It is 13" wide and it weighs 11 lbs. There are chips, scratches, and edge wear all of which adds to the character of this piece. We've seen other churns similar to this that were listed as a"No. 1" but we don't know if this one is or isn't. It has some chips. Cracks, scratches, edge wear, and nicks as you'd expect for an item of this age. It's not perfect! As you know, these are typical issues for an item of this age and show you the character. Wood End Table/ Figured / Rustic Red Cedar / LOG Cabin Furniture -#1445
1445 You will never find another quite like this one. This piece has a nearly 2 1/2" thick top and a very interesting slab/ log base. It is 22 1/2" tall. It is very solid and heavy at around 25 pounds. The top surface is 20 1/2 inches at the widest point between the branch hubs. It averages around 17-18 irregularly round. This is an Eastern Red Cedar log that was hand crafted into a beautiful and unique end table/ display piece. There is NO paint on this. The beautiful colors are all natural Red Cedar grain colors. This is almost entirely of redwood. It is hard to appreciate from the pictures. The bottom is designed from very rustic dry. Season Eastern Red Cedar logs. These logs have beautiful character including Redwood centered branch hubs and natural rustic wood cracking texture. The support base is a thick Freshly cut Red Cedar ... moreslab. This slab displays the Redwood grain. Interesting grain branch hub and bark characteristics. The top slab is an approx 2 1/2" thick slice of a very mature. Fresh cut, Red Cedar. This top slice was mill cut. Smooth and lightly sanded to allow a little surface texture. This top slice was carefully selected to include 2 external and 1 internal branch chutes. You will see the fantastic cross section view of the growth rings. The Red/ Golden grain variations and the burl-like swirling designs near the branch chutes. Note: The top slice is a little offset from the base due to the general shape of the top compared to the slab beneath. Not exactly centered. Please consider this. See pictures. The bark is almost completely intact on the slab and slice. The base leg bark was 100% removed by Mother Nature. The legs are countersunk approx 3/4" into the slab and secured each with 5 inch lag bolts and wood glue. Each leg has solid log braces between each. The slab and slice are thoroughly wood glued then 2 countersunk 4 inch thick bolts were used to pull the two tightly together. This is a very solid table. I would not recommend using it for a bench.
