Qing Period Li Tieh-kuai Eight Immortals Chinese Root Wood Carving 12 1/4" I think this is an original Qing period of early Republic period Li Tieh-kuai Eight Immortals Chinese root wood carving. The piece is about 12 1/4" tall. 4 1/4" across and features an old beggar with a bad foot. There is a small chip on the top of the forehead and a slight swivel where the foot meets the base. My dollhouse family is moving! I am selling several rooms of furniture and accessories. This auction is for a bedroom set- this was the master bedroom and is all hand crafted- there is a four poster bed complete with mattress pillows and bedspread( the spread is actually an emboridered handkerchief) A vanity with stool, nightstand, and more recently I had added the loveseat to the suite. The bedroom furniture is from the 1980's and was made by hand and purchased at a now out of business St. Louis dollhouse shop; it has stencils and hand painting on the wood and is nicely done. Scale is inch to the foot. The little upholstered loveseat is handmade also but is newer, signed by the artist Bill Reynolds and dated 2004. I put it together since it is white also and matched fairly well. All the drawers open and close. It is all in good shape. ... moreI had it for over 30 years.
