You are bidding on 12 solid brass stair rods and 20 acorn ends. They were removed from an upscale house on Long Island in 1983. In 1990 my mother stole them from me and had them refinished and cleared so they wouldn't tarnish. Now its time to replace the carpet on the steps and the stair rods will no longer be used. Two of the rods are still wrapped in paper from the refinisher. I don't know what happened to the other ends for the last two rods and asking my mother is not an option. Set of 26 1950s Deco Chrome Stair Clips/Grips. Great Condition!
A nice looking set of 26 chrome-plated carpet clips. Or grippers, complete with the mounting plates that they slide into. For easy fitting. They are marked as by'Probus' although I have seen them with other trade names; and they have a UK patent number of 686695, which was applied for in 1950, and issued in 1953, so they are more suitable to a 1950s-style Art Deco setting! Should be fine for a 1930s-style interior, though! They measure 10.5cm x 3cm. The small plates are fixed to the staircase by a single wood-screw each( 5 x 5/8" type- not supplied) Available from any good hardware store/building supplies merchant, for a few pennies; and the clip is then slid into place, after the carpet is laid down. A great finishing touch, for those who prefer an elegant stair runner, to the fully fitted type. Lot of 10 Vintage White Shabby Chic Style Architectural Baluster Stair Spindles
Purchased out of a barn behind the house that was holding an estate sale. You are bidding on 10 vintage baluster stair spindles. The contents of the house were being sold by the children of the family that lived there and they have no idea how the stair spindles got in the barn, how they were used or how old they are. As a result I can’t tell you much about them. If you look at the pictures you’ll get a good idea of the condition. I can tell you that there are 10 pieces all together. Eight of the pieces measure 22” long and two have been cut down to 21” in length. Of the two that were cut down. Both ends are in good condition. Of the 8 that are 22” long, one end on three of them shows some damage, which might be why two were cut down. Otherwise they are in nice shabby chic condition. Therefore, this is a set for twelve treads(steps) Each fitting has two holes drilled to fit to the stair tread(see photo) Along with the fittings there is also a box of original Nettlefolds 3/4" screws. Rustic. Salvaged, architectural post. Oak construction and guaranteed to be from Victorian era. It is an octagon shape with widening, beveled trim platform at the top. Attached to rail on one of the 8 sides only. Very flexible piece can be used in lots of ways. It measures 37 1/8 inches tall and 9 1/4 inches across top. Structurally 100% sound. ANTIQUE 1880's ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE STAIR NEWEL POST Offered here is a salvaged antique newel post. Left over from a staircase I installed close to forty years ago(see bottom images) My guess would be that the wood is Chestnut. There are nicks and scratches, as well as some nail holes where handrail attached. The post measures 25-1/2" in height x 5-1/2" x 6-7/8" at square side widths. The turned parts are 5" dia. at the top and the smallest diameter is 3-3/16" Three faces have identical designs. Fourth is where railing attached; one small square broken nail remains. The piece will clean up nicely. But will require a little repair where the top is chipped. SHIPPING WEIGHT: 10 lbs. This piece was not needed to complete the work seen here. Listing tonight is a custom made set of router bits for stair rail making. I have been using these bits for about 20 years and they have tons of life left in them. They were expensive to make and have always been used for professional stair work so they were treated with great care since new. They have been dormant for about three years and will make someone lots of rails. They are high speed steel and carbide and the bearings are running smooth. They are 1/2 inch shaft. They have no nicks or chips and the shafts are not worn. Also included are the step down bearings needed to remove material in multiple passes. They appear to have rust in pics but not rusty just need cleaning. Antique Victorian Stained Glass Window- Circa 1890 Stair Landing Window Ornate with Jewels. The dimensions are 27 7/8" x 33" x 1 3/4" thick. This is a beautiful piece with beautiful decorative glass. All hardware intact and an aged painted black finish on one side and a stained finish on the other. The glass and joints are beautiful and in great shape. The jewels are excellent, and the frame and is in great shape. The interior iron bracing rods with iron twists are still present. There is one piece of glass missing. The lead around this piece is bent slightly outward, and there are some other small cracks(see pictures) but but overall the window is very nice.
