Measuring 21” x 19.5” It is in Excellent Condition for its age which is estimated to be pre-1930. It has a beautiful Center Star Pattern and 4 Whirling Logs. The weave is nearly a tapestry weave and the colors and combination of colors are mesmerizing! The colors in this rug as you see in the photos. I took the photos in natural light in my home. The yarn is soft and supple and the rug is almost weightless due to the extra-fine weave. I recently had this rug professionally washed(there are no stains or bleed on this weaving) and the ends hand-knotted by a Navajo weaver so there won’t be any unraveling of the rug yarns. The selvedge edges are in excellent condition. There are no corner ties, but the corners are stable so that they will not come apart. RARE Antique 1933 Lincoln Logs Fort Dearborn Construction Set 40 W/Box
Up for bids is a vintage Lincoln Log Lumber Fort Dearborn Construction Set No. 40. Manufactured by J L Wright Inc of Chicago. IL. Fort Dearborn sat on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago and was one of several similar U.S. forts built to protect early settlers from Native American Indians and foreign invaders. They also acted as trading posts in early America. The fort was reconstructed for the Chicago World's Fair. The lincoln log lumber used in this set has been designed to reproduce blockhouses. Barracks, stockades and settlers cabins as accurately as possible and as such are constructed in log panels instead of being cut separately as is the case of Lincoln Logs. This set is copywritten and produced in 1939. This set is in very good condition. There are three damaged stockade pieces as shown in a seperate photo. Vintage New Mexico CHIMAYO Wool Blanket, Rug w/ SWASTIKA (Rolling Logs). 66"x42"
This strikingly sober and beautiful rug was made by either"American" Native-Americans in the Southwest of the USA(probably New Mexico) or by"Mexican" members of native peoples living near the border of the USA and Mexico. We can't tell as we don't know anything about the provenance of this rug. We believe it is not Navajo. Though, given the way the fringes are knotted. Please check our close-up of the fringes. The fabric is all wool. There is no cotton warp or weft. The dyes used seem to be natural, probably made by the artisans themselves, and the red in particular has bled a little into the neighboring areas. Please check our close-ups. The center them has one very well defined green motif. And one gold or yellow motif that has faded with time. The swastikas tell us the rug was of course made before the Nazis ... morein Germany soiled this venerable. Old symbol with their crimes. The Native-Americans, including the Navajo, stopped using the beloved symbol in the early 30's, we believe, so this blanket or rug must have been made in the 1920's or before. It is a heavy. It is in good shape with only some bead loss in the corners and on a few spots along the bead strip.The beadwork is still sturdy and the tough cowhide is strong.It is 1.5 wide and 32" long plus 4" inches of leather strap folded under where a buckle goes. Vintage Lincoln Logs Set 5C There is no date on the box. But I am assuming they are from the 1960's, as the box says original Lincoln Logs. It comes in it's original box, although the lid is missing. Box is in decent condition. As far as pieces go. 208 is not likely. I did a rough count, it's more like 140. When I got the set there were pieces broken and I threw them out. I am not the original owner of this set. When I got it, there appears to be dried glue on some of the pieces, which I faced up so you can see in the pictures, from someone trying to keep them together. It doesn't really effect how they piece together though. We've put them together a few times with no instances where the glue had any factor in how the pieces fit. Here is a Lincoln Logs Rocky Mountain Ranch set with lots of extra pieces thrown in! It is in good used condition. There are a few minor imperfections. One of the horses is missing. One of the front gates is missing, the lid to the original box is gone and two of the decals are slightly worn. We store everything in the box with a trash bag inside, and it works fine.
