This piece came from New Mexico to California in 1902. The man I got it from said he had a Navajo chief look at it and based on the weave pattern he believes its from the early 1800's. I have no way to validate that but its what I was told. there is slight damage in the whirling log as seen in the pic but over all this rug is in great shape. This is an original 1955 Tonka Log Truck made in 1955. It is all original with original paint. Decals wheels, tires, hubcaps and logs. It is in excellent condition mainly because of it's age. The axels are straight so the wheels and tires roll very nicely and don't wobble. The greatest amount of paint loss is at the fifth wheel, where again, this can be expected with a vintage truck such as this one. Nice straight body grill and bumper. Missing are the chains that hold the logs down. Lots of tread on the tires with no cracks on any of them. Please ask any questions you may have and I will get back with you the same day. Antique Majolica Duck& A Pond Spill Vase Match Holder/Striker. Vase measures approx. 14 cm long. 13 cm wide with a height of around 11 cm. Base has number 6154& further handwriting in what looks like lead pencil- also there is a mark shaped a little like a xmas tree in shiny glaze- a further impressed mark can be seen by'scuff' mark(almost obscured) which happened when unfired clay contacted surface when it was made. Brightly colored shiny glaze contrasts beautifully with the pale blue interiors of the match& spill vases& pink spent match well. Looks like the similar glazes used by well known potteries. I will throw out a couple of names.Delphin Massier& Minton who used similar colorations to this.if u know.I sure would appreciate the knowledge. Extraordinary 1880's Navajo Coin Silver Rolling Logs Bracelet
This 1880's Navajo Coin Silver Bracelet is an extraordinarily rare find. There is an example on page 488 of the unabridged version Lois Dubin's book"North American Jewelry and Adornment" of a late 1880's Ketoh which is on display at the Heard Museum in Phoenix. Az. that shows the exact same, and very unique crosshatching stamp work. Because of the fact that this particular stamp is so unique it seems reasonable to me to conclude that this bracelet was made by the very same silversmith. Early stamps were hand crafted by silversmiths by altering chisels to create the desired pattern. It was only much. Much later that trading posts supplied silversmiths with prefabricated stamps. Early examples of Navajo silversmithing were known to have been made for personal use. Not for sale commercially, and is this most certainly and ... moreexample of that practice. The bracelet is hand wrought from coin silver. With the black patina typical of coin silver. It has been inscribed by the maker. Or owner. To either himself or possibly to a female loved one. Family or a friend. I would dearly love to know who CHC is. The bracelet is rather heavy for its small size. Weighing 23.7 grams. The circumference is just a little over 6 inches. Which includes the gap, and the height of the"Rolling Log" in the center is a little less than 1/2 inch. The rest of the band is roughly 7/16 inch. OK! Well. We are getting ready to go off in the 5th wheel and are getting rid of some stuff, hopefully sending it off to a new, good home, yours! We got these Lincoln Logs in the year 2000. When the grandchildren were first playing with them. Ahhhhh.creating memories! But now the kids are growing up and would rather be texting.so wadda ya do? Enjoy each stage of the game! You may be able to tell I had a pretty good time putting these together for the photo! All of the parts are there. But somehow through the years, the stickers all came off of the flags, and one of the 4 5/8" logs is way darker than all of the others. It MAY be that particular log is from the 1970s and our own children. Who knew? So anyway. You have in this set, everything that is in the photo, including: 45 1 5/8" logs 20 4 5/8" logs 4 4 5/8" split logs ... more2 7 5/8" logs 4 10 5/8" logs There are a few minor dents in the bottom of the cylindrical container.
