This is an original M1887 rifle sling for the Trapdoor Springfield rifles and Springfield Krag rifles. It is in very good condition. But has two replacement keepers that are of the correct type, but reproductions. The sling is marked"Rock Island Arsenal" with the inspector mark"H.E.K. below it and is also marked"J.M.M. on the tongue. This sling does have a couple of creases from improper storage, but no splits(see photos) The brass hooks have a nice patina and just a small amount of verdigris. It measures approximately 10 X 13 ½ inches. The book has great Lithographs- so nice that they could be framed! The back cover is missing. It is in good condition for its age. The Sheet Music Book came from the estate of a descendant of a notable family from Newport. Rhode Island. It is signed in pencil on the inside cover“ C M Clarke” which stands for Caroline M. Clarke. Formerly Caroline M. Moore(1813-1864) She was the wife of Peleg Clarke III(1795-1862) who was President of the Bank of Rhode Island at Newport. They married in 1831. CRACKED Vintage Hawaiian Rare Tiki Easter Island Luau Moai Trader Vics Bowl
This is a Vintage Tiki Bowl. I am not sure just how old it is. The bottom has markings that are hard to read. I think they say"1998 Trader" and possibly"Trader Vic" I am not sure. It is a wonderful Easter Island style head bowl. Three of these heads are attached to the sides and they create the feet for the bowl to sit upon. The bowl is not round. By slightly triangular in shape. It is glazed in a deep rich brown color. I think it was used in the family for a Tiki decoration or party. Unfortunately this bowl HAS A HAIRLINE CRACK down the side towards the bottom of the dish(see photo 5) And on the top rim where the crack begins there are few very tiny chips. It is so sad that this nice tiki bowl has this damage. It can still be used for a great decoration. But as far as holding liquids or lot's of use I am not sure ... morehow this bowl will hold up and because of the crack tender care would be needed when in use. In 1644 he published eleven county maps in an appendix to the"Atlas" Ut they appeared from 1646 in the"Novus Atlas" Jansson's county maps are seen far less frequently than those of his rival Blaeu, but are similar in appearance with coats of ... morearms and decorative title cartouches. Jansson, like Blaeu, used Speed maps when creating his own thus showing hundreds but no roads. However, Jansson(and Blaeu) chose to omit Speed's innovative town plans. Small foxing. Small browning. Conditions are as you can see in the images. Mapmaker: Jan Jansson or Johannes Janssonius(1588- 1664) was born in Arnhem. Holland. He was the son of a printer and bookseller and in 1612 married into the cartographically prominent Hondius family. Following his marriage he moved to Amsterdam where he worked as a book publisher. It was not until 1616 that Jansson produced his first maps, most of which were heavily influenced by Blaeu. In the mid 1630s Jansson partnered with his brother-in-law, Henricus Hondius, to produce his important work, the eleven volume Atlas Major. WW1 ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1911 BAYONET & SCABBARD US S/N 212246
Estate sale find. I did a little research on this because I've never had one before. It was made by Rock Island Arsenal in 1911 and it looks like it would fit an M1 Garrand. The blade is 9 3/4" and the knife is 14 1/2" long. The scabbard has a marking in the back side that looks like VP 26. It's in overall good condition for being a hundred and two years old. And it doesn't look like the kids found it and tried to cut a tree down with it.

This is a original period cartridge pouch. The pouch is marked all over the place but I can only venture a guess of its significance. We have an extremely significant location marked on the pouch(ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL) that was significant in the Civil War and now houses a Historical Museum. We also have the(STATE OF TEXAS) stamped now could that mean that this is a Texas Ranger item. And the(US) stamp on the front which is only used on MILITARY USE ITEMS. The pouch measures 6" wide and about 4" tall. It is woven cotton thread double stitched and in very good used condition. No Reasonable Offer Refused. Posted with

I acquired this piece at the Yellow Wolf Intertribal Pow Wow in 2008 on Vancouver Island. British Columbia. The Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations people are a part of the Coast Salish ethnic group which have been occupying the“Greater Victoria” Territory for the past 4000 years. 2 large 6" diameter hoop made from Willow. It is a true 3-D sphere. The intricate hand woven webbing has red and white beads woven in. Inside the“double hoop” is another smaller dream catcher. It features long assorted feathers.
