This display case features 4 old sprinkler heads from the Viking Corporation, manufacturers of automatic sprinkler heads and systems, of Hastings, Michigan. There is one chrome plated sprinkler and three brass or bronze ones. They are polished and look amazing with the old Viking logo for the backdrop. Good condition with excellent patina both metal and brass portions. In as found condition I have not cleaned in any way other than check inside for old dirt dobber house remains and to make sure I didnt ship any live critters! There are no dent. Dings anywhere and no split in the brass head part. The two pieces are ttight together. Measures about 3-3/4" across head and the inlet measures about 1-1/8" across the inside threads. Vintage Rockwood 1936 160 Degrees Sprinkler Head on Brass Paperweight Signed
Signed in script Warren Grubb and another set of initials LF. The brass bushing is 5/8" thick x 3" OD. The sprinkler head has the word Rockwood 1936 on top of the head. It also has a Patent date of March 4/30 it may be 36 but it's not clear.On one side it reads 1936 and 160-D(Degrees) The brass bushing shows surface pitting but not in the material. Good Luck! Vntg Used Large Rain Bird 70 EW Brass Sprinkler Head
Up for auction is a vintage used large brass Rain Bird 70 EW impact sprinkler head. Connected to a Clauber brand valve by a 1 1/8 diameter steel threaded nipple. There is a second similar nipple that connect to the irrigation system. It was made in Glendora, CA. USA. Total weigh is 4.5 lbs, total height is 14" width of sprinkler arms is 10 1/2" with just the sprinkler at 8 1/2" tall. The brass valve is 3" tall by 3 1/2" wide. There is some brazing on the base of the sprinkler. This type of far reaching irrigation sprinkler was commonly used in parks, schools and golf courses before underground pop-up systems came into fashion. Buyer pays for parcel select mail.
