Porcelain coated iron wall bracket. 9.75 inches long. The'bowl' is about 4& 3/8 o.d. and 3.75 i.d. The hole is about 2 inches diameter. The wall mount end is about 3& 1/8 high. 3 wide at the top and 2.5 at the bottom. It weighs about 4 pounds. It is a neat old piece but I don't know its original purpose. Lamp holder? This is a fire extinguisher that I purchased at the IHC farm equipment store in Okla City in the late 60's or early 70's. I always kept it in a drawer in my garage but it has never been used and still shows a full charge. However I believe that the US Postal Service will not allow it to be shipped fully charged, so I will have to empty it before mailing(if you are close enough to the Minneapolois/St. Paul area and want to pick it up you are welcome to do that- I'll not empty it until I know it is going in the mail) About the only condition issue is that the plastic face of the condition gauge is cracked(see picture) The paint is shiny with only a few scratched and scuffed areas. Pyrene Fire Extinguisher Brass 1 Qt. Red Stripe with Wall Bracket Never Polished
A 1 Quart Brass Pyrene Fire Extinguisher with a painted Red Stripe on the bottom ring. No. U 579962. Used for Type B-2 and C-2 fires. In excellent condition for its age. Not full. All liquid has been removed. This has never been polished since it was bought it appears. There are scrapes in the old laquer finish and I see some small droplets of pink paint on the brass that should flick off without a problem. From an Estate Sale were I removed it from the wall in a closet in the bedroom. The house had been unoccupied for 21 years. Wall bracket has some white paint on one side from when they painted the wall. The bracket is in great condition aside from the paint. It weighs over 6 pounds so best to ship USPS Large Flat Rate. Vintage 1940's/ 50's push-button home and auto refillable Fire Extinguisher with box. Bracket and original mounting screws. There is also a 1957 receipt for 1 CRI Pyrene Fluid in the box from Fochtman Motor Co. Petoskey, Michigan. The extinguisher itself is in excellent condition. No dents, no fading. It looks like its never been mounted or used. The label on the extinguisher says what to do before the fire. During the fire, and after the fire. All very readable. The bracket is also in excellent shape. No dents, no fading, just a couple of small paint chips by the Pyrene label. The Box is complete with some inside structure to hold the extinguisher in place. The box has some wear but no tears to the box and the wording can be easily read. There is some smudging to the box and some corner wear. This is an empty 1 qt. brass fire extinguisher made by the American LaFrance Foamite Corp. of Elmira. NY and it is the No. 6 model. It is about 13 1/3" long and comes with it's mounting bracket which has a new coat ob black paint. This has been polished and lacquered. it has one dent at the base and this can be seen in the pictures. It has some small dings and scratches but as you can see in the pictures, it displays very well. The brass label retains most of it's original paint. You are bidding on this vintage brass fire extinguisher. That is in very good shape along with the steel hanger that originally came with it. Purchased from an estate sale of old family friends. The extinguisher clips right into the hanger and is still very crisps. It is 13" long and about 3" round. It is a pump extinguisher, you take it down, turn the handle, and pump away. The are a couple very lite dings, but Should clean up very nicely. Say it is a one quart hand fire extinguisher. Safeguard" is the name of it and The Safeguard Company, Detroit, Mich. The hanger is very solid, but has some paint loss and very very lite surface rust starting. The pump inside seems to be in very good shape.
