This is a wonderful piece of firefighting apparatus history. Dating from the late nineteenth century or early twentieth century. The gilt piece measures two inches by two and a quarter inches and features the image of a piece of fire apparatus with the name"Hancock" on it. I am not sure if it is a hose reel or a pumper. Up for auction is a very old vintage iron. Horse drawn fire hose reel. The entire ensemble is 19 inches long. It is pulled by two noble steeds. The horses move up and down when pulled or pushed. The original reins are missing, and I am not for sure that these are the original bits and halters. 1930s Marx Pressed Steel Friction Powered Aerial Ladder & Hose Reel Fire Trucks
You are viewing two 1930s Marx Pressed Steel Fire Trucks. The Aerial Ladder Truck is clock work wind up powered. It measures about 14 1/4" long and the ladder measures about 12 1/2" tall from the truck to the top of the ladder. It has hard rubber wheels with metal hubcaps. The ladders are missing that hang on the sides. There is no key for the windup. There are other pieces missing as seen in the photos. The Hose Reel Truck is clock work windup powered. It has a hand crank hose reel and battery operated headlights, taillight and flood light. The lights will need replacing and the wiring may need servicing. It has not been tested. It measures about 14 3/4" long. It has a Pat. No 1962870 on the bottom of the truck and a PATENT# 1,912,545 on the battery compartment. It is missing one wheel and on the rear and the other one needs ... morereplacing. The front wheels are fine. They both show some paint loss and missing parts and pieces. They would make great restoration projects and good addition to any collection. This is a Potter Roemer industrial fire hose reel complete with bracket. The reel itself measure APPROXIMATELY 22 1/2 by 5 1/2" wide(inside diameter) and the bracket adds another approximately 10" I have several of these so the one you receive may not be the exact one pictured. But all are in about the same very good used condition. That yellow stuff is just pollen and dust from being stored in a barn for the past month and a half. We were politely asked not to say where they came from, as the owner does commercial work with the factory, but let's just say these can't be more than a couple years old, as the factory, which makes some of the finest German engineered cars here in Chattanooga, has only been in town that long, and only recently swapped out 50 of these reels. 20" Hubley Cast Iron Articulated Horse Drawn Fire Hose Reel Wagon Cart COOL
You are viewing a Turn of the Century Cast Iron Horse Drawn Fire Hose Cart Wagon. I have been told that it was made by Hubley. Put together. It measures approximately 20 inches long. The driver and Hose Reel are removable and the Cart is articulated(comes apart at the joint as well) The rope"hose" appears to be original. There is a lot of very ornate details to this great piece. The wagon shows coach lights on either side of the drivers seat with ornate brass colored finials on the top. There is a standing platform on the rear for the firemen to ride on and post(brass colored tips) to hang onto for dear life as the horses raced to the fire. It is missing one post) The frame has brass colored embossed trim on the sides. The wheels have embossed lugs at each spoke and a line showing the metal bands that were used to keep the wood ... morefrom wearing. The reel has what look like flowers or eight point stars embossed on it. The galloping articulated horses are very detailed with flowing mane. Strong muscle tone, leather harness and reign details with buckles, hardware and eye holes, nostrils, open mouths, eyelids, muscular jowls, flowing tails, hooves and legs showing individual joints. The fireman has his helmet with raised front where the dept. badge is. He has a very wide open mouth. Nicely formed nose, detailed eyes, ears, and round cheeks. His clothing shows molded wrinkles/creases, button down shirt, belt with large buckle, tall fire boots with molded place for unit or dept number embossed on the front of them.
