You'll see 3 main options for programmable thermostats: 5-2 days. 5-1-1 days and 7 days. 5-2 day units allow for two programs- one for Monday through Friday and another for the weekend. 5-1-1 units allow for 3 programs- one for Monday through Friday and two separate programs for Saturday and Sunday. A 7 day device allows you to have different programs for every day of the week. 2. Pick a thermostat that is compatible with your system. You'll see Gas/Oil/Elec options.
