Vintage Rare AMDAHL Lucite Paperweight Embedded Logic Chip & Cooling Tower
For auction is one Rare Square AMDAHL Lucite Paperweight with Embedded Computer Chip and Cooling Tower with a black base. On the top of the chip is stamped“250066-001” and“2-7344” In addition. 849” is also written in what looks like pencil on top of the chip. The chip itself is gold in color. These processor paperweights were very popular with the Amdahl sales people because they had a unique cooling tower designed to cool with air and not water as IBM mainframes were. This cube measures about 2 inches on all sides. It is clear except for the base. Which is about 1/8” thick, and black, which causes all the reflections you see in the photos. There are some minor scruffs and scratches due to my uncle using it as a paperweight but it is in very nice condition as you should be able to tell from the pictures. Alien computer tower cabinet. Glows blue when on. Really cool! Pulled out the hard drives and left everything else in it. Has working blue light cooling fans. Two cd rom drives, mother board, video card and whatever else you see. I am not a computer expert so my knowledge of whats left here is limited. I was having conection problems with the keyboard so I decided to upgrade instead of repair. Computer is being sold as is, for parts or repair! Cabinet is in great shape and only has minor nicks rubs and scratches nothing majior. Unit does not come with power cord. This auction is for a 50 Ton chiller that can operate in either 25 ton or 50 ton mode(it has dual compressor and chiller systems) The chiller is a AEC(Application Engineering Corporation) 50 ton chiller model number NECR-2-60 which is a dual(independent) 30HP chiller with two compressors and air cooled condensers. The air cooled condensers can save a lot of hassles in permits since you will not need to apply for a water discharge permit for a cooling tower. You also will not have the problems associated with maintaining a cooling tower with this system. Since it is a dual system it can save a lot of money if your operation has a demand less than 25 tons you can just turn ½ of the chiller off when it is not needed.
