I stand behind everything I sell. If you have any issues let me know. From the tag on the motor I can make out it is a type 3G motor, 115 Volts, and 14,000 rpm. I don't see anywhere it tells me the horse power. There is a 1921 patent date just under the Dumore name. The motor kicked on instantly and seems to run fine. Thats as far as I was able to test it since I don't have a metal lathe. It comes with the case and everything pictured. There is no belt with it.

The top shaft pointing to left mesures approx 3 1/2 inch length. I believe this model is early 1950's but well cared for. I am not sure what the accessory tooling does so study photos. And some grinding wheels and grinding stones. Wrench, and a rare grinding shaft guard. The grinder has been tested and works well. It can be powered with any electrical cord which gets plugged into the motor(shown on one photo) The box is in very good condition and the latches and hinges are all present and work well. precise toolpost grinder for lathe tool post
This is an old toolpost grinder from an estate. I plugged it in for about 1 second to hear it spin up then unplugged it and did that again 5 or 6 times just to ensure that it spins up. The reason I didn't run it any longer than a second or two at a time is to avoid damaging the bearings. This thing probably hasn't been run in 30 years and the bearings need to be lubed with fresh high speed bearing lube(this is a 40.000 rpm motor) This is not a sealed bearing unit as newer motors are.it is old style where you lube the bearings after something like 40 hours of use. The box contains the necessary wrenches for the grinder including a collet spanner wrench. It also includes the lathe toolpost adapter to hold the grinder in the toolpost. It also includes a very small(looks like an eighth inch) collet accessory and another clamp type device ... morewhich I have no info about. There is also quite a bit of paperwork(instruction manual, etc) and a special"lube gun" which has the special high speed lube still in it, however, I wouldn't use the lube in the gun at all.it's probably as old as the grinder. The grinder itself has two cracks in the plastic housing(rear housing) which seem to be stable(you can't flex them at all) and have absolutely no effect on the motor that I can tell, and if you were concerned about those cracks, I would just put a screw type hose clamp around that part of the housing for added support. The cord has some tape on it near the plug where someone has repaired it, and the strain relief for the power core needs to be replaced as the rubber has deteriorated and come apart at the body of the motor. The box itself is steel and undamaged(perfectly functional) but the finish is rough.kinda rusty looking with no paint left on it. If you lube it up properly, it should make a good toolpost grinder. This is a Dumore Tool Post Grinder for lathes with a swing of 8" to 11" It is a series 11 Model 8386. It is in exceptional condition and is about as close to new as you can get. The person that I purchased it from said that it was used one time. And it looks like it. There are a couple of minor scratches in the paint here and there, mostly from storage and handling. It comes with a basic accessory pack that contains a few stones, a spare belt, wrenches, guards, instruction booklet, lube oil, etc. I bought this thinking that I would use it on my machine.
