But will explain what is present& show them in the photos As you can probably tell from reading the preceding sentence. I don't know very much about this drill bit grinding tool. I will do my best to describe the condition& what I do know about it. Each photo was taken in a way that tried to emphasize any imperfections. WHY IS THIS FOR SALE- That's an easy one to answer. For me to keep& use this fine. Precision tool would be doing it a great injustice. It would be far underutilized. I would prefer it was being ... moreused& enjoyed by a craft-person whose work demands precise. Accurate and fast drill sharpening. This trades-person would also be able to make custom points at custom angles. As explained a bit more below. I get along fine for my needs using a bench grinder for quick touches and a Darex Homeowner style Drill Doctor for mass sharpening parties. This tool's talents would certainly be wasted in my shop. I have seen more than one person use these as a general purpose knife. Plane, chisel sharpener. They use them without the accessories to put fine edges on. I suppose you could use the right side wheel for putting chip breakers or tiny profiles in custom lathe bits and maybe grind spoon shaped chisels. Router bit sharpener? Maybe. The rectangle cut-out in the base could hold a tray for water. As smoothly as this operates and as nice as the stones are. I would imagine it works great as a tool sharpener. Perhaps it can be an economical alternative to a Tormek SuperGrind? You could probably also use it as an end mill sharpener(assuming your talents far exceed mine! I do not need this machine anymore because I am downsizing my shop. It works flawlessly and all of the collets operate smoothly. This machine has a CBN wheel that does the actual sharpening of the drill bits. I have used it to sharpen bits from 1/8 to 7/8 with no problems. The manual is available on line for FREE. You merely have to download it. I also have an additional NEW. CBN wheel for making your bits 135 degrees as opposed to the 118 degrees that is currently on the machine. This machine will also split the point on the bits as well for increased performance and adding to the ability to not have the bit"walk" on you. Not sure, there is a lot of life left in the cutting surfaces. I contacted Darex and they sent me the operating instructions through email, I will forward them to the winning bider if he or she desires. There is one small crack in the base of the housing, which is shown in the pictures, 5 and 6. This machine is in extremely good condition. The original lamp fixture is present and working.
