Vintage Winona Heddon Dowagiac Fly Reel, bakelite knobs, pat'd 1929 clean, nice
For sale is a vintage and very nice James Heddon's Sons Dowagiac Fly reel. Also says Winona and Michigan. Pat'd 1929. No numbers that I can find on it anywhere. looks like 105's that I have seen. It is Black and the paint is very nice and shiny. Just some very minor tiny scratches, might not be even visible in photos. Has 2 small knobs for winding that appear to be Bakelite. Works, Measures 5" across. You won't be disappointed with this one. Packages sent least expensive USPS with insurance. Cost of Insurance split with buyer. Payment is appreciated within 7 days. James Heddon's Sons "WINONA" Vintage FF-108 fly fishing reel
Here is my grandfather's vintage James Heddon's& Sons FF-108"Winona" reel. I think that this is a fly fishing reel. But it could be a casting reel. It has some curious metal rings around the periphery that I haven't seen in other recent auctions. It appears to have a"clicker" button on the reverse, but if it is a clicker it is not working. It has green"crank handles" and one of them is missing a small brass screw. The stainless line guide popped off the end of the stainless support bar. It appears to have been soldered on, and should be repairable, perhaps with superglue. The spool is black and it contains the line that had been used prior to 1983(the year my grandfather died) I am"right-sizing" my fishing gear, and the winning bidder can benefit from this.
