For sale at a fixed price is this neat vintage Auto Fly Fishing Reel. It is a dark red 1930s vintage South Bend Oren-O-Matic No. 1140 Model D. This one has been used but not significantly. It is near new in the original box with the original instructions and loaded with vintage line. I am unsure what the line is.other than a vintage waxy brown line. As I said. The reel is in as minty condition as you can hope to find one of these. The high profile areas are nearly always missing some or most of the finish as it just wears off. This one has very little in the way of rub marks or wear. It loads and rewinds perfectly. The box has some shelf wear as you can see but it is complete with undamaged corners. It is a dark red 1946 vintage South Bend Oren-O-Matic No. 1140 Model D. This one may have been used but not significantly. It is near new in the original box with the original instructions and loaded with vintage line. The instruction book is dated 1946. I am unsure what the line is.other than a vintage waxy brown line. As I said. The reel is in as minty condition as you can hope to find one of these. The high profile areas are nearly always missing some or most of the finish as it just wears off. This one has very little in the way of rub marks or wear. It loads and rewinds perfectly. The box has some shelf wear as you can see but it is complete with undamaged corners. OLD Vintage South Bend MDL#C OREN-O-MATIC automatic FLY Fising Reel made in USA Red OREN-O-MATIC#1130 c Auto Fly Fish Reel USA This red painted South Bend automatic fly reel harkens to an age when fiberglass rods ruled. This reel works but needs to be cleaned. And its screw( missing slotted head might be repiarable by someone with more knowledge than me. Cosmetically it has 70% of paint; if used as a static wall mount or repaired for use, it would pair nicely with an older model glass rod. The reel measures 3" diameter x 2" wide. And at 9.3 ounces it should balance out any vintage heavier glass or bamboo fly rod.

For sale are 2 vintage automatic fly reels. 1) HEDDON No. 57 and 2) SOUTH BEND Oren-o-Matic No. 1130A. I'm unsure as to the age of these. But they were owned exclusively by my father, and he had used them in the 50's. I've had these reels for years but have never used them. Although I'm not a reel expert, they do seem to work fine.
