This classic vintage reel is in very good plus condition all around. It has a good on/off click button on the tail plate. The brass surface has a nice patina. Up for bid is one Vintage WINCHESTER Model No. 2142 Nickel Plated Brass Raised Pillar Fly Reel with 2:1 Multiplier. Clicker, and Drag Control. The foot has 4 rounded bent up ears that attach to the pillars. The handle knob is ivory colored and appears to be possibly ivory or whale bone. The knob has some cracks which further make it look like ivory or bone. There are two slide buttons on the rear plate, one to control the clicker and one to engage the drag function. It is in good working condition, and good overall condition with the plating in good condition. There are some minor scratches from use(see photos) The front cover is engraved with" WINCHESTER. TRADE MARK. MADE IN USA, 2142" and there is"40" on the bottom of the foot. Winchester bought Hendryx Reel Co. in 1919. And produced fishing tackle from 1920 through ... more1930. The clicker is controlled with a slide button on the rear plate and the drag control is controlled by a second slide button on the rear plate. The front cover is marked"HENDRYX, MADE IN U.S.A. This reel is constructed of nickel plated brass. With the plating about 50% worn off(see photos) It is in working condition with both the clicker and drag working. The counterbalanced handle appears to have a bone knob(see photos) It measures 1-3/4" diameter. 3-1/16" deep including the handle, pillars are about 1-3/8" long, and has a foot measuring 2-9/16" long by 9/16" wide. Rare H.H. Kiffe 1890's Catalog & named Kiffe brass raised pillar reel nice combo
This is your chance to own a rare combo of vintage H.H. Kiffe 1890's fishing and hunting catalog and a circa 1890's Kiffe raised pillar fly reel. Catalog is in rough shape with part of the cover. And back cover missing. All the 166 pages are there and show a host of sporting goods that were for sale that year. The date shown on the catalog is missing the last 2 numbers of the year. Only the 18- is there. H.H. Kiffe was a New York outfitter. Catalog shows everything from hooks to ammo. Reel is 1 3/4"in size. Brass and turns freely. Great research material for early tackle.

Vtg Hendryx Raised Pillar, Brass casting or fly reel, Excellet uncleaned cond.
Search This is a vintage hendryx reel. Not sure ifit is a casting or fy reel. Reel spool is abut 2 x 2 inchesandthe reel seat is 2 9/16 inches long. The reel seat is a raised pillar and marked Hendryx on one side and Pat Mar 21? and Pat July 10, 1888 on the other end. Some of the numbers are worn but most are clearly visible. The reel works wel and has a nice click,in and out. It is not bent or twisted in any way and looks like old brass with a good dark patina. Filled with old fishing line which I did not remove so I dont know what is underneath the line. Great old reel, guessing it s a trout reel. Please ask questions-if you have any-before you bid. Most of my items are used and show some wear. What may seem unimportant to me may be very important to you so please look at the pictures carefully. The knob is made of wood and it is a pretty nice looking reel. I don't know alot about it other than it's been in the family home for over 40 years. Antique HENDRYX?? 1.25" very tiny spool all-brass raised pillar fly reel VGC
c 1880 to 1900 Antique& very tiny all brass unmarked HENDRYX? Multiplier Fly reel What you are bidding on is most probably the smallest fly reel ever made. It is presumed to be a Hendryx based upon the shape of the foot plate. It is in excellent condition. Its design is from around the turn of the century 1880-1900. It features stamped all brass construction. The extremely small size would not impair its capacity to hold abundant silk line which was in use at the time. Extremely tiny reels of this type are often mistaken for toys. Considering its age it is in excellent condition as the photos show. This may or may not be a genuine Hendryx reel. It is difficult to say with certainty because of the lack of markings. This reel was sonically cleaned to remove old grease and grime. And then lubricated.
