I have for sale a vintage Bronson Royalist No 370 Single Action Fly Reel. It is in its original box and it also has the original literature with. This was made in the 1950s I am told so it is old but it is in brand new condition. I don't think grandpa ever used it. The box has a little ware on it but it was sitting on a shelf for years. It doesn't appear to have ever had line on it.

Bronson was the largest manufacturer of fishing reels in the world, producing over 1,000,000 fishing reels annually. This'bronson red" anodized aluminum single action reel has advanced features for its age including adjustable drag and levered spool release. The reel has been steam cleaned inside and out. It is greased, oiled and appears to be ready for another 50+ years of service. Smooth retrieve and solid sounding click. Very few signs of age(please note the photos for details of its excellent condition) You could pay a lot more for a new reel with these features but not have its quality-built construction.

You are looking at my grandfather's Bronson"Royalist 370" Fly Reel from the early 1960's. I recall this is the reel that was attached to a glass fly rod that he taught me how to cast on the Pine River in Michigan. My grandfather was a snowbird. He spent his winters in Homosassa Springs. Florida and his summers in Northwestern Michigan. So this reel could have been used for both fresh and salt water, but I truly doubt it was in salt water) based on the condition. It is in very good shape and if I was able to still wade a stream. It would not be for sale. However, one back surgery too many has me on the sidelines. My grandfather's health has declined and as such he can no longer fish. My grandmother sent me several boxes of his tackle. Reels, poles, and lures and asked me to find new homes for them.
