This unit is in good physical condition with only minor scuffs and scratches due to normal wear. All the labeling is clear and legible. This unit is however missing its rotor and it will need to be replaced before use. Please refer to the pictures provided below for more details on the condition of the item. When we tested this unit it powered on without any problems. We set the timer and started the unit spinning. It spun without any vibrations or noises. We also turned the drying function on and tested the temperature with an infrared thermometer. The vacuum pump does NOT run, and there is"something" missing from the centrifuge chamber; we are not sure what(see photos) There is a small amount of heat transfer liquid in the cold trap, but this will be removed for shipping. After the 45 minute warm-up period(called for by the manual we found at the Thermo Scientific website) we used our infrared thermometer to find the cold trap chamber walls were as cool as-48ºC. The centrifuge chamber was as warm as 86ºC. The timer counted down and the radiant cover fan ran when we set a cycle to run. The vacuum pump never started, and when we opened the back and applied power directly to the pump it still would not run. No further testing was done. The condenser remained on. The COVER OPEN and COVER CLOSE buttons make a beeping sound when pressed but we were unable to get the cover to open. All other buttons are unresponsive.
