There are a few minor scuff marks and scratches on the item but this does not effect the functionality of the item. The function buttons are in good condition and all words and numbers are visible. The internal structure of the item is in good condition with no dents or cracks. The rotor is also in good condition with no dents. The power cable is in good condition with no cuts or frayed areas. Please refer to the photos below for more details on the item. This item was plugged in and powered on with no problems. We turned the timer to 10 minutes and set the speed to max. The item ran for 10 minutes without any issues. When the item stopped running we used the brake and it functioned without any issues. The RPM meter got to a max of 3500. We then took out the rotor and turned the RPM to max and the item went over 9000 RPM. We guarantee this item to function properly and as described as is. IEC/Damon CRU-5000 Refrigerated Floor Centrifuge
IEC/Damon CRU-5000 Refrigerated Floor Centrifuge Up for auction is this used IEC/Damon CRU-5000 Refrigerated Floor Centrifuge. It is overall in fair cosmetic condition with quite a few scuffs and scratches. But no major damage. There were quite a few stickers and labels on the door when we received it and there likely is some residue left. The inside of the unit is a bit dirty from previous use. See photos below for more details on physical condition. Specifications: Brand: IEC/Damon Model: CRU-5000 Serial# 23453850 Voltage: 120V Amperage: 20 Wattage: 1200W Refrigerant: R12 28oz I plugged the centrifuge in and powered it on. Which it did properly. This centrifuge uses a 15A 120V plug type. I was able to open the door with the unit powered on. It includes a rotor and(4) tubes for testtubes. Two of the four tubs have inserts so that the inside ... moreis the correct diameter for a normal size test tube. When I turned it on the unit was at 29C and the refrigeration compressor started up. I came back after about 15 minutes and it was at 15C and still cooling down. I then set the centrifuge to 500 RPM, 5 minutes and pressed the start button. It quickly started and reached the 500 RPM within a few seconds. It held the speed properly. I then adjusted the speed up, each time it held the desired speed properly. It did seem to show a speed on the gauge of about 100 RPM less than the dial was set to. I set the RPM all the way up and the centrifuge leveled off at about 3900 RPM. I then set it back down to 2000 RPM for finish the run. When the timer went off it started to slow down. I tried both the min and max braking switches and both work properly. When the centrifuge stopped the top light lit and I was able to open the cover again. By now the centrifuge had reached 6C. I closed the centrifuge and let it sit for awhile and let the refrigeration run. It reached about 1C. Being the coldest I saw when it was set to-10C. It did seem to warm up some after it had reached its coldest, which I'm not sure why. The centrifuge will be s

Damon IEC Centra-8R refrigerated centrifuge with 216& 811A Rotors We've been using this unit once a month. And it's about time to upgrade the system. This is a special set with 2 rotors, 216& 811A that still working great. Please see the attached photos Photo 1: Equipped with the Swinging Bucket Rotor#216 with all 4 buckets and 50ml tubes adapter. Photo 2: Equipped with the Fixed Angle Rotor#811A. Showing room temperature at 20C. Photo 3: Setting run time at 30 minutes and target temp at 4C. The precooling run at 1000 rpm cooled the system down from 20C to 4C in a few minutes. Photo 4: Now we set new speed to 3400 rpm(optimum speed for#216 Rotor) And the system temperature still be at 3C- 4C. Photo 5: Now we increased speed to 5600 rpm(optimum speed for#811A Rotor) And the system temperature still be around 3C- 4C. Photo 6: ... moreWe kept it running until the display showed remaining time at 10 minutes. The temperature still was in the same range, then we pushed the Stop button and then the Brake button. Photo 7: The brake system brought the spinning down to 0 rpm in less than 2 minutes. Photo 8: You can see thin ice formed on the inside wall of the chamber. Known Issues: a. Speed Control Accuracy in the original specs was +/ 10 rpm. But the current actual accuracy is about 10- 15 rpm below the target speed. b. After precooling. The actual temperature during running time of pre-chilled sample was a bit lower than target temperature. c. With unknown reason. The Braking System sometimes does not work. It can stop the spinning from 5600 rpm to 0 rpm in less than 2 minutes as seen in the photos, but sometimes it takes 4-5 minutes to stop in the similar situation. d. As a security feature. You cannot start the machine if the lid is not securely closed. If the machine didn't run after you push the Start button, push Stop/Open button then open the lid and close the lid tightly then try the Start button again. This item is used and sold"As Is. I refurbished the centrifuge for use in my lab. It is in beautiful condition. I changed processes so I had to buy a centrifuge with a different rotor and don't have any room to store this one. The needle indicating RPMs is sticky and needs to be tapped to show the correct speed. It maxes out at 5.000 RPMs. The Rotor is CAT 815(7/87) There are 16 stainless steel tube sleeves that slide into the rotor. They are CAT 302(6/87) 46.5 GMS and"Made in the USA. There are 8 more holes without sleeves. For sample containment I used the Falcon(35 2097) Blue Max Jr. 15mL Conical Tube with blue cap. 17 x 120mm, Polypropylene, Non-Pyrogenic, Sterile centrifuge tubes. They fit perfectly inside the rotor sleeves.

The lid locks in place and the centrifuge spics properly with no obstructions(this model will allow you to open the door while the centrifuge is spinning) The RPM and timer both work as well as the brake but it will not spic past 2500 RPM. The sticker attached states that it was last inspected in 2012 so it may have to be re-calibrated and cleaned but other than that it appears to be in good working order! This Sale is for a used Damon/IEC Spinette 6-Place Rotor Laboratory Benchtop type Centrifuge. This unit is 115V. 3.0A 60 hertz. The unit has been tested and it runs fine. I ran the unit for about 1/2 Hour straight with no issues what so ever. The cord is good as is the metal lid, safety latch, rubber feet, Housing and warning labels. Not being one from the health and lab world I am not sure if the size of the test Tubes is a standard. This unit will hold a tube 5/8" outside diameter and no longer than about 5" long. This unit is ready to be put to work. The plastic on this unit is not a bright white. It does have a yellow cast to it. My guess is this yellowing is from age. The unit is very uniform in color. Please look at photos and ask questions if needed.
