Offered is a True Vintage Frank Betz Electric Antique Centrifuge. Based upon the model/serial number. This centrifuge is believed to be circa 1950’s. For display purposes. A glass shelf is not recommended. This device weighs over eight pounds. A cardinal rule with electric antique devices is to not plug them into an outlet. Testing is best done by those with the proper equipment to gradually increase the electric current. This device was not plugged into an outlet. So the condition of the electrical components is unknown. It is offered as is. The body and housing of the unit are in good vintage condition with no holes or splits in the components. We set the temperature at-5°C, rotor speed at 3400RPM and timer at 20 minutes. It took the rotor speed under 1 minute to reach 3400RPM(on the display) When the rotor speed reached 2300RPM, the top lid began to shake loudly. It took about 15 minutes for the temperature to reach-5°C(on the display) Once the temperature reached-5°C, we opened the lid and the chamber wall had frost. The wheels on the unit rolls well and brakes also works well. W
