Fisher Marathon 22KBR Refrigerated Centrifuge For sale- a Fisher Marathon 22KBR Refrigerated Centrifuge. I knew this thing didn’t work before I bought it. But it is in such good shape I thought it would be a good candidate for refurbishing. It does power up as shown and when you get it to acknowledge that the lid is closed it sounds like the refrigeration compressor kicks in. In fairness I haven’t given it a chance to try to cool down before I push the Start button. It seems like it is trying to work but then gives an Error 70 message. I have no idea what that means. As such it is being sold for parts or repair only. Maybe Error 70 is something simple. Maybe not. Given the shipping costs involved a return policy here doesn’t make sense. Buy it with the intention of fixing it up or don’t buy it. Both the exterior and the interior of the centrifuge ... morelook very good as I think you can see in the pictures. Picture of the interior shows a mounted rotor THAT IS NOT INCLUDED! I have both the 4500 RPM swinging bucket rotor and a microplate rotor. Both Hermle products(as is the centrifuge itself, obviously Fisher imported Hermle centrifuges with their name on them as Hermle also has a model Marathon 22KBR. So no doubt the rotors will fit both. But again, NO ROTOR included in the sale. The rotor has already been sold! When i removed the rotor it did not seem that it was rotating freely. So if i had to guess I would say it probably needs a new motor. Please check out my for more interesting lab. Test, and optical equipment, including the two Hermle rotors that I got with it.
