This item is used and sold"As Is. I refurbished the centrifuge for use in my lab. It is in beautiful condition. I changed processes so I had to buy a centrifuge with a different rotor and don't have any room to store this one. The needle indicating RPMs is sticky and needs to be tapped to show the correct speed. It maxes out at 5.000 RPMs. The Rotor is CAT 815(7/87) There are 16 stainless steel tube sleeves that slide into the rotor. They are CAT 302(6/87) 46.5 GMS and"Made in the USA. There are 8 more holes without sleeves. For sample containment I used the Falcon(35 2097) Blue Max Jr. 15mL Conical Tube with blue cap. 17 x 120mm, Polypropylene, Non-Pyrogenic, Sterile centrifuge tubes. They fit perfectly inside the rotor sleeves.

Used Clay Adams CT1004 6-place centrifuge -- working!
Another relic from our cabinet of curiosities: An ugly. Used centrifuge that still works pretty well. Clay Adams Model CT1004(I think) SN 28948. Hand-me down equipment from the University of Akron to our high school, and now being passed along again. I fired it up and it spun smoothly with minimal noise, turned up about halfway(probably about 2000 rpm according to the markings on the dial- see photo) All six heavy brass spin tubes are included(about 3/4" dia) though perhaps they are just carriers for glass tubes that slip inside. Drum diameter is 10.5" The three suction cup feet are still in working shape. The power cable, though, is pretty well shot and needs to be replaced before routine use, but that's an easy fix. It will be put on a good solid pallet and will be wrapped and secrured well around the item. Up for sale is a Beckman Avanti J-20 refrigerated centrifuge. The menu and refrigeration functions have been fully tested and work great. The refrigeration gets cold very quickly and the thermostat was tested at many different temperatures all the way down to the mininum and worked great. All menus were run through and responded well. I do not have a rotor for this unit so the drive function was not tested. The"drive" and"door" error lights would light when I would hit the"start" button on the unit. I did not have a rotor ... morein the unit so that might have something to do with the errors. The door did work though and would open and close well and the latches were secure. Cosmetically it is very clean and there are only normal use scratches and wear on the outside. NO PARTS have been taken from the unit it is complete. Because of the errors and my inability to fully test I am selling this unit As-Is no return(thus the great price) But am guaranteeing that the buyer will receive as described and the refrigeration works well. The unit powered on and there was response from the internal rotation mechanism(with the use of a 220V) I noticed during inspection that sometimes the unit doesn’t register that the rotation has stopped. So I had to use a small allen wrench in a hole on the left side to release the cover lock(also locks during power off) The unit responded when first setting the dial for the amount of time, then the rotation speed(RPMs) The unit also comes with a 1”x1” metal square that appears to be a washer or an extra piece.
